Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | Silnev wrote They were mostly just beta designs of cars that were in the final game. The only cars that were obviously cut were the Fiat and Boxtruck. And that Chevy Caprice

Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | Sorry for deleting your comment 17m.al-tamimi, there was a mistake. But to answer your question, those School Bus pics were from a mod, despite that vehicle was cut from the game -- Last edit: 2021-01-01 23:54:12
Dodge Intrepid Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | Auto-Friki wrote Interestingly, the name Kuruma comes from the Japanese which literally means car. That is pretty well known. For instance it was a plot point in an episode of NCIS (from like 2006) where a witness saw a "kuruma" at the crime scene which the team ID's as a Chrysler Sebring sedan. -- Last edit: 2020-11-04 22:13:06

Jeep Grand Cherokee Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | Reiner394 wrote I'm getting sick and tired of hearing this shit. Every time people discuss SUVs, they assume every truck with a roundish square body is a Jeep of some kind. It pisses me off so much that I want to punch these people square in the face and slam their head against concrete just to jog their scatterbrained heads. I know what a Jeep is, these people clearly don't. but it is a jeep, dude

I know what a Jeep is, these people clearly don't. I think it's based on speculation. I mean, some people debate on whether the Taxi/Police Car was based on either the Ford Crown Victoria or the Chevrolet Caprice. (I think they look like the former, given the front) As for the Landstalker, I think it looks like an early 2000's Mitsubishi Montero. If anything, I think the VC/SA Landstalker has more in common with a Jeep model than III. Whereas LCS through V, look more like a Ford Expedition. But I digress.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | Considering the back windows (and the fact that it was featured in the manual as the Maibatsu Monstrocity), I'm assuming it was based on the 2001 Mitsubishi Montero, but with the front end of a Jeep.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | twilight sparkplug wrote Landstalker is the Stratum of the 3D era but ok. What the heck? These are 2 completely different cars and both appear on 3D and HD era of Grand Theft Auto series, so I don't know what you meant.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | eh its been quiet for a while. so interesting to see what happens. Landstalker is the Stratum of the 3D era but ok.
Jeep Grand Cherokee Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | twilight sparkplug wrote I only wanted to reply to his comment "why would they add a British SUV to a game, which is set in the USA?", so I don't know why you posted that CJ meme. My comment/reply doesn't have anything to do with the Landstalker real counterpart. -- Last edit: 2020-06-30 13:19:20

Jeep Grand Cherokee Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | Mathias98 wrote Rockstar North is located in Edinburgh, Scotland, but why would they add a British SUV to a game, which is set in the USA? And actually, the Freelander isn't so similar to the Landstalker: www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=127 - how will you explain this? You said "why would they add a British SUV to a game, which is set in the USA?", but Land Rover is also a British car and it appeared on GTA San Andreas, which also takes place in USA.
Dodge Intrepid Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | Front Intrepid or Stratus and the back 300M.
Dodge Intrepid Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | Oh, you are right, for many years i thought it was a Intrepid but the rear is a 300M. Front Intrepid or maybe for the lights Stratus and rear car a 300M. -- Last edit: 2020-05-30 15:22:27

Jeep Grand Cherokee Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | I think it looks like a Mitsubishi Montero, because of how the windows are placed.
Chevrolet Express Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | This is not an American at all. This is a generic van. In the early alpha version, it was called "Transit"; I hope there is no need to explain how it was inspired.
Toyota Tacoma Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | TheGreaser wrote I would have preferred either the Toyota Tacoma or the Isuzu Hombre (basically a carbon-copy Brazilian Chevy S-10). If I remember correctly, it was listed as a Tacoma a long time ago. Edit: web.archive.org/web/20151015030803/http://www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=48 -- Last edit: 2019-08-02 15:16:49
Toyota Tacoma Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | I still don't understand how this is supposed to be a Ford Ranger "Splash." It doesn't even have the corny 90's graphics. Whatever the hell this thing was before you folks messed with it, it should have stayed as that. Too many of you are trying to claim glory over one vehicle. -- Last edit: 2019-08-01 20:07:22
Toyota Tacoma Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | TheGreaser wrote The ONLY reason why this is a Ranger Splash is because it's entirely similar to one. The Ranger itself, like the Bobcat in GTA III is a small pickup in the States. For the Dodge Ram, it's more mid-sized. The Bobcat is not mid-sized. Also, Vice City, San Andreas and VCS models are directly based on the '83 Ranger (a pretty good replica I must say). Can you explain what do you mean by "entirely similar"? Which part of the Bobcat looks like the Ranger? Apart from the grille, I just can't see any similarity. Yes, it's a Ranger in VC, but that doesn't prove anything, since some of the cars' design were completely changed between the two games (Stinger, Banshee, Landstalker).
Toyota Tacoma Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | I don't want to start another war, but could someone explain to me why is this pickup a Ford Ranger? Because honestly, I still think it's more similar to the Ram. Here's how I see it: Comparison 1 Comparison 2 - the front bumper matches the Ram - the Ranger's bumper is more angular - the shape of the hood is more similar to the Ram - the Ranger's hood is flat - the shape of the wheel arches matches the Ram - the Ranger's are rounded - the Ranger Splash has a step on the sides behind the cab - the Bobcat hasn't If I'm wrong, can you explain which part of the Bobcat looks like the Ranger? BTW, I used the fixed Bobcat model from the Leftovers Fix mod in the screenshots. -- Last edit: 2019-07-29 02:21:22
Toyota Tacoma Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | Yikes. You people need to find other pages to fix. We've already identified this vehicle, stop bothering with this page.
Toyota Tacoma Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | Kent Paul: Don't start, not in this confined space Please, don't make it look like Bobcat Wars, i strongly agree with Silnev this is a Ranger Splash, i fail to see a Dodge Ram here
Toyota Tacoma Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | I still think it's a Ram. I made a morphing animation between the Bobcat and the Ram, maybe it changes your mind: 3dthis.com/player.htm?h=NzQ2NTk4 The grille is different, but I think it's justified, since the Dodge crosshair grille is trademarked. Furthermore, none of the Dodge-based cars has the crosshair grille in the GTA series - just look at the Willard (SA), the Sindacco Argento, the Buffalo (HD Era), the Youga, the Gresley or the Bison. The headlights are bigger than the Ram's, but the shape of the indicator lights are the same. Apart from these, I don't think there's too much difference.
Toyota Tacoma Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | Mathias98 wrote Does anyone else have an opinion? Should it be changed to Dodge Ram or not? Dude it's not a ram. It' a Ford Ranger splash but with chrome bumpers. -- Last edit: 2019-07-19 20:55:10

Toyota Tacoma Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | And this time my life was a whole lie
Toyota Tacoma Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | I have recently replayed GTA III and I think the Bobcat isn't a Ford Ranger - In my opinion it's rather a Dodge Ram. For comparison: Dodge Ram Ford Ranger And it might be just a coincidence, but it's also named after an animal. Does anyone agree or disagree?
Jeep Grand Cherokee Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | Who removed the previous statment? It is a Ford Escape/Maverick! Even if it wasn´t as popular as the JGC in the US is far more similar! Firstly is the compact size the Maverick has, Jeep Grand Cherokee is more masive in size! Then there´s the spare wheel, then the rear lights...
Jeep Grand Cherokee Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | I have no idea where you see Grand Cherokee here. For me, this is just a mash-up, based on various Japanese SUVs of those years.
International Harvester Loadstar Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | When they said no to the School Bus, they replaced it with this stupid mishmash of a School Bus chassis and the back of a 60s New York City Bus. Unrealistic piece of crap. My Suggestion, mod your PC copy of GTA III, and replace this mutant mobile with the School Bus from the Beta/Alpha version and have fun.
Toyota Tacoma Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | At first, I was thinking 1995 Toyota Tacoma, but I'm starting to think 1996 Isuzu Hombre, cuz front end, square-ish tail lights, and shape.

Plymouth Reliant K Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | mazdacosmo wrote in devlopment it was called "Reliant" so its a Plymouth Reliant No, the beta name was Ariant (Aries + Reliant). On IMCDB they are listed as Aries by default: www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=757067 www.imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=717750 But on the other hand, more Reliants were built: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plymouth_Reliant#Production_numbers -- Last edit: 2017-12-02 15:07:18

Toyota Tacoma Grand Theft Auto III (2001) | this truck is a pretty big mixture of things, front end looks kinda like an Isuzu Hombre and a 93-97 Ford Ranger, but the taillights are what looks to be inspired by the 96-03 Ford F-150 Stepside Bed Taillights and the overall shape of the truck is somewhat reminiscent of late 90s-early 2000s Toyotas |
