Fisico9798 photo_librarymode_comment 2020-08-10 23:46 | This is original race modification for the Ford Taurus SHO '99, which modificated this car to Mark Martin's 1998 #6 Valvoline Ford Taurus NASCAR. This car was due to licensing problems in later NTSC (V1.2) and PAL versions replaced to a more generic looking Ford Taurus NASCAR. Here is the link to the later replaced version: igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=226876

ThePorsche934.5 photo_librarymode_comment 2020-08-10 21:06 | Presumably due to licensing issues with Roush Racing (Mark Martin's team during the 1999 NASCAR Winston Cup Series), the livery was changed to a generic NASCAR-inspired design in the NTSC-U 1.2 and PAL versions of the game. "Originally" when Racing Modifications are applied in the NTSC-J and NTSC-U 1.0 and 1.1 versions of Gran Turismo 2, the car's appearance is altered to match that of NASCAR driver Mark Martin's 1999 #6 Valvoline/Eagle One Taurus. Fisico9798 photo_librarymode_comment 2020-08-10 10:32 | This is the legendary 1997 BTCC Audi A4 still with yellow rear-view mirrors. From 1998 it was gray and red rear-view mirrors that could be seen on the Audi in the BTCC. The race-modified Audi A4 is based on the 1997 btcc touring car. 1997: i.pinimg.com/originals/ac/e0/d8/ace0d8dbb126cf6ff731dc7703ead154.jpg 1998: i.pinimg.com/originals/53/7b/bb/537bbbdaf1511a4892d2e070c777fd37.jpg -- Last edit: 2020-08-10 10:33:52
Fisico9798 photo_librarymode_comment 2020-08-10 10:23 | Although the racing modification is the early 1995 Audi A4 touring car with Shell sponsor on the front bumper, the car you buy in the game is itself a '98 Audi S4. Here on this page you can see which Audi the in-game race-modified S4 is based on: fourtitude.com/news/motorsport_news_6/find-day-1995-audi-a4-quattro-super-touring-racecar/ fourtitude.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/1995-Audi-A4-Super-Touring-ST07-Race-Retro-2015-auction-316-960x600.jpg -- Last edit: 2020-08-10 10:33:42

The first two cars i have added are the Nissan Primera BTCC '98 and Subaru Impreza 555 from 1995 (). If there is anything wrong with these pics, or the cars at self please tell me. Otherwise, I will add some race modified cars in the next days or weeks when I have time. |

Gran Turismo 2 (1999) | Antti-san photo_librarymode_comment 2020-08-06 19:45 | This has been discussed before, IIRC the rationale for not including the RM cars before was that they are not separate vehicles, but acquired via tuning. Personally, I wouldn't mind to see them listed. -- Last edit: 2020-08-06 19:47:03 |

2020-08-06 17:05 | I'm looking at the wiki and they list all the vehicles. Yet IGCD, which has the best visualization of the game content with this multi gallery feels incomplete to me to not list everything as the big encyclopedia I see it is. |
Gran Turismo 2 (1999) | Fisico9798 photo_librarymode_comment 2020-08-06 14:26 | TheGreaser wrote Unfortunately, it is not very likely. For me, the site is for the base game's cars in the final product. As for this game, the RM mods need to be listed. So if allowed and nobody is against this I could add some of the race modifictions of some cars. Especially cars like the Audi A4, Honda Accord or Nissan Primera which, if modified as a racing car, can be tuned to the BTCC touring cars '98. (TOCA 2 greetings ) Unfortunately there is no Volvo S40 (or rather Volvo in general). This was the only official BTCC car that is missing in the game. All others were included. Interestingly, you could even tune the Audi S4 as a racing car and afterwards it looked exactly like the Audi A4 from BTCC '98 season. Instead of yellow rear-view mirrors (like in BTCC '97 Audi had), he had gray ones in the game. It was practically the 1998 livery of the Audi A4 on the S4 in Gran Turismo 2. While the Audi A4 with racing modifications in game with the yellow rear-view mirrors is based on the 1997 BTCC race car. There also many, many cars that can be modfield to the rallye cars (like Subaru Impreza from '94-'97, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO III and IV, Toyota Celica GT4 ST185 and ST205 in many variations, Peugeot 306 Maxi, Peugeot 206 with livery from 306 Kit car, Lancia Delta Integrale, Renault Maxi Megane, Ford Racing Puma (the one from Colin McRae Rally 2.0) etc.) If nobody is against these race modifications of cars, then in the next few days I'll be busy adding a couple of these vehicles. But before I start work, it would have to be clearly decided whether the tuned racing modifications are allowed as listed vehicles. I personally think they should definitely be listed. They are a (big) (important) part of the game. To see if the car is a race modfication, we can write in the 'How to obtain the car box' it is e.g. " a racing modification of the car XYZ." So you can see faster that it is a car racing modification. btw: It would not be bad if we added a new star with a new color, for cars that are specially tuned it represents a completely different car. Especially with Gran Turismo it would make sense. |

2020-04-04 04:17 | This car’s the only one in the game w/ Continuously Variable Transmission or CVT. This means this car’s driven w/o the need to shift gears; thus, you won’t be able to choose between automatic or manual transmission before races w/ this car. Also, the Logo will rev by itself, even when the accelerate button’s not held. This can be fixed by purchasing gearbox tuning parts, however you still won’t have transmission choice.

speedfreak975 photo_librarymode_comment 2019-02-25 21:12 | RUF was recognised as a separate brand (not just tuner) from porsche as it had few similarities performance wise with porsche. IRL Ruf common ground with Porsche is chassis in white and base engine discipline sometimes But yeah i do think any modified toyota could be added and toyota shouldnt have issue with it like artic trucks in Forza. -- Last edit: 2019-02-25 21:18:24
Silnev photo_librarymode_comment 2019-02-25 13:26 | You know I had a thought. Couldn't game companies get around the whole Toyota embargo by just listing Toyota cars under tuning companies like TOM'S. I mean that's basically what they did with the whole Porsche and RUF situation and heck the early Forza games used to do incorporate a bunch of tuned versions of various cars. I mean feature the car and add mods so that you can make the car look "stock" but is not the actual stock parts. Or would that not work?
