Plymouth Gran Fury Driver 2: Back On The Streets (2000) | Bruisemobile wrote I see what looks more like a 1974 Plymouth Fury. i agree, the grill is much larger than the one of the monaco, so this is a 1976 plymouth gran fury www.policecarwebsite.net/thepolicepackage/ch/cbody1023.jpg www.policecarwebsite.net/thepolicepackage/ch/cbody1024.jpg

Translation: it's probably some variation of Plymouth or local South American Ford model. It's slightly possible, that designers of the game were even aware of some damn soviet volga... -- Last edit: 2024-10-13 00:10:46

Mercedes-Benz SL Driver 2: Back On The Streets (2000) | Has De Tomaso Longchamp taillights and Maserati Kylami front grille. A version of this car is used in Rio cutscenes, somebody should probably add it. Used in "Caine in Rio" (beware: very low quality) and in "The Shootout" where the tire gets shot (beware: only shows up for 3 or so frames, and barely shows the car). www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9TnnTR4MFA -- Last edit: 2024-05-13 00:16:53
Ford Thunderbird Driver 2: Back On The Streets (2000) | A different version of this car is used in Rio cutscenes "Lenny's Getaway" and "Lenny Gets It". Somebody needs to add it as a separate unplayable vehicle, just like the grey Chicago car. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwdCrJuYASI is probably actually a 65 t-bird because of the taillights, but I'm just nitpicking here. -- Last edit: 2024-05-13 00:19:23

GAZ 24 Volga Driver 2: Back On The Streets (2000) | Based on the front grille I would have to disagree with the notion that it's a GAZ, looks to me like a 2nd gen Plymouth Valiant. i.imgur.com/SWJA1jV.jpg Really the only difference is the rear end, and that could just be a case of artistic license. A 60's Plymouth to me makes the most sense as the Rio map also contains a mid 60's Ford Thunderbird.
Oldsmobile 442 Driver 2: Back On The Streets (2000) | PhoeniX98 wrote Has the front grille of a Buick GSX and the rear of a '73 Monaro, but the side profile of a '75 Firebird. GAZ 24 Volga Driver 2: Back On The Streets (2000) | I have the theory that this car was initially meant for La Havana (since Cuban police forces drove USSR cars at that time), but somehow during development they just put that car in Rio and made a new model (or reused the Dodge model?) for La Havana police.

Plymouth Gran Fury Driver 2: Back On The Streets (2000) | This was a bargain. I picked it up at the Mount Prospect City police auction last spring. It's an old Mount Prospect police car. They were practically giving them away. It's got a cop motor, a four hundred and forty cubic inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters, so it'll run good on regular gas.
GAZ 24 Volga Driver 2: Back On The Streets (2000) | i agree with Jony93, the front grill looks very similar to the Valiant and the page should be changed, but why did they put a valiant in the game anyway, i remember movie that located in rio using different cars www.imcdb.org/vehicle_217443-Chevrolet-Opala-GM-V-1980.html its like a Opel Rekord -- Last edit: 2020-10-27 22:58:47

GAZ 24 Volga Driver 2: Back On The Streets (2000) | I have to agree. The few pictures I could find of Rio police cars of this era were almost entirely American or European makes (mostly VW Beetles and Chevrolet Veraneios which wouldve been cool to see in this game). The car does have some resemblance to a Volga but I believe the Valiant is a better choice based on historical context. Plus Plymouth Valiants were exported to various nations and used as patrol cars
