Volkswagen New Beetle

Out Road (2004)
Well that's not how it actually works. It should still be listed as origin Germany regardless. Same with all other New Beetle/Beetle A5 models on this site.

You wouldn't list Minis as origin Germany, even as BMW owns the brand, so why should the Beetle be American??

Volkswagen New Beetle

Out Road (2004)
Well, Wikipedia seems murky in terms of assembly dates. It was built in Germany initially from 1997 until 1999. After that it was built in Mexico (and only in Mexico) until 2019, when production permanently stopped.

But yeah, the Beetle wasn't American-made. So it should be Germany by default. If IGCD had a "Built in" option like IMCDb has, then it would be Germany first, Mexico for the rest.

Too bad Infiniti won't put it into production; this would've been a excellent performance car. :/

At least they added more cars that match the Mexican atmosphere, like: Chevy Colorado, '75 Bronco, Jeep Wrangler, and VW Beetle in which they even make a taxi variant

I know this is about six months old, but to add on to that 'lazy' route - All of those you mentioned all have drivable variants. They did not even bother to make an authentic Vocho nor does its red/gold taxi. Instead they just crammed the '63 Beetle - which dates back to FM4 - and there is literally no New Beetle or its 2012 revision anywhere in the game. They did not use longnose cabs for trucks, just reuse that Scania-styled truck and the flatbed last found in FH4. No effort was made to differentiate the US-spec models of existing cars. Bora, Golf III, Subaru Legacy (which isn't even LHD, mind you) are the exact same models from FH2. Did they even scan any of the million Tsurus and Versa sedans or most of the Renault/Dacia models?

In addition, I've read somewhere on GT Planet that car manufacturers get no revenue from used cars and only want new stuff - meaning sales. I'm not sure whether that's true or not, but it only adds to the fact that this sort of feels like in Mexico. You got the landscape which matches this, but it feels like they kept the UK styled cars, and what leftover assets they had, Unlike certain simulators (ATS, ETS2) which make it feel like it's actually the area that's represented.

But something's gotta give, right? Just my two cents.

It's not that model, because the Forza model is extremely low quality (read its FH5 variant on why it needs to be remastered).

Actually this scheme happens with old open-world titles like this. MCII had certain traffic that only appeared in career races.

For this they had to make do with a fatter model and it looks weird in most angles. This model is somehow even in the much more inferior PS2 version, which had a lot of cut traffic models because that version could not support them.

Well, why was it bad? I mean I have never played any of them but why is it that? I figured its 2012 reboot could have been worse.

Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 (2021)
Yes. Also, if we took CMS21's lore, wouldn't Chapman be made upon the Caprice? They're not based on the Impala-based Capes.

And before anyone says it's duplicated - it isn't. Think of F-Mill models as detuned cars with I6 engines instead of the V8 OHV.

Forza Horizon (2012)
It's just one of many cars that never made it after FH1 sadly. That game had many interesting cars despite its low amount of vehicles, and most of them didn't see the light of day anymore. Now even modern Forza can't get out of this issue, as gems like the HK Monaro and the current XC90 won't show up anywhere other than FM7 DLC.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 (2012)
Important announcement for those waiting on Heart of Russia:

If you're wondering why, as of now, we don't have any new info on the planned Heart of Russia DLC, or any other articles on Steam or their blogs, well, we've got some very bad news. I know this is late, but the current situation (read: invasion of Ukraine) with the very country SCS is making for the map expansion is beyond abysmal. As it stands, SCS, among many other developers, are not happy with this situation. As such, all development of Heart of Russia has been either suspended or cancelled indefinitely until the issue has been resolved.

SCS has also released the Ukrainian paintjobs pack in response to the issue at hand. All this has happened while Heart of Russia seemed close to being released, as they recently made a WIP gameplay video a few weeks prior to the invasion.

As far as ATS progress is going, it's going swimmingly as the planned Texas, Montana DLCs will be landing within the year, as with the Phase 2 of the California Rebuild.

TL;DR: Heart of Russia's release is very doubtful with the situation going on.

When will Forza include somethin' like this? I've heard their cars are elegantly designed and would be better appreciated too. Small wonder why FH5 has only one Hyundai and the devs have no interest in adding any new models from Hyundai or Genesis - or even Hyundai's Genesis Coupe for that matter.
Chevrolet G-20

Ghostwire: Tokyo (2022)
They're the same model. And Chevys aren't necessarily strange considering the Astro had been imported there with moderate success, as well as the Toyota Cavalier, which (surprise, surprise) failed to convince buyers because it was American-made and GM convinced Toyota to put a badge on it. Dodge vans are popular there too.

ATS GT

Forza Horizon 5 (2021)
I agree, but we have to live with it. So many new cars are just waitin' for appearances with Forza but they rather just want cars from FH4 back....

They simply have absolutely no interest for new cars, like Infiniti, which I wrote about on the Q60 concept that shouldn't be in the game, or Volvo, which is down to three models (overused 850R, V60 PS and 242), or Lexus (no new models made after 2015 and they aren't listed as Japanese).

Granted I like this model, but PG needs to step up their future Series offerings. They can't offer just 4 cars each update.... I mean this is inexcusable.

Forza Horizon 5 (2021)
It isn't just one major flaw with FH5 (sometimes the servers work, other times it's painful when it comes to Horizon Life). The other is that we have many cars that we want in Forza, that sadly, simply have no interest to T10 or PG. Like the 370Z Nismo, 675LT, Panoz, all others from FM4/FH, and recent Audis and BMWs.

International 9900i

American Truck Simulator (2016)
So, now the pics have been provided, I'll give you the rundown about this truck: You'll need the Cabin Accessories pack as well for navigation because this truck is from the early 2000s, and infotainment systems were hardly a thing for that era.

I like this model they made. I hope SCS sees additional old trucks, but given their rarity today, it's doubtful, but if possible they could add as some are still on American roads:

-Peterbilt 387
-Mack Vision
-Peterbilt 379
-Older Freightliner Cascadia (not the one from 2018 or the newer facelift)
-Freightliner Century
-Freightliner Columbia
-Freightliner Coronado
-Freightliner Classic
-Kenworth T-2000

Again they're quite a stretch because finding most of them are difficult because of daily usage and being scrapped. I left out cabovers because they have basically been phased out in the U.S. since 2007 afaik. But never say never.

As of 1.48 these now spawn in the AI vehicle rotation.

As of now the new International truck is actually one that's from the 2000s. SCS finally embraced the older truck trend and brought us the International 9900i Eagle.

Could SCS bring about old trucks for the first time?

EDIT: I have added it but it is currently a placeholder shot. So until someone has proper pics for it, my name will not be credited.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human (2022)
Considering the game takes place in a ravaged Villedor in 2036 I figured this would be around as a cameo. Where the lore stands is that a worse variant of the virus, codenamed THV, had propagated into Europe and the world, not just within the independent republic somewhere in Turkey.

For this van, I supposed they kept it around as a leftover asset from the original DL. Here, this poorly-written pamphlet for a videostore ad I took shows a mirrored version of said asset.
