Buick Century Driver (1999) | UtterNoobery wrote Alright, i have some revisions. This is actually a Y76 optioned 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass (based on the shape of the tailights and the chrome strip in between them which is absent on the 76-77 cars), which is basically the Oldsmobile version of the Century. Had I known the Y76 optioned Cutlasses existed I would've marked this car as one. The regular Cutlasses never had this specific style of landau roof. Only the Y76 cars had it, and the Y76 cars are rare and the average 70s car enthusiast (me) doesn't know about them. www.oldcarsweekly.com/features/car-of-the-week-1977-oldsmobile-cutlass-s classicoldsmobile.com/forums/general-discussion-33/1976-oldsmobile-cutlass-s-mag-7-a-171926/ This "mag-7" one is the same color as the ingame style. y76cutlass.com/y76 interesting find

unknown Driver (1999) | correction-mopars from that era with the sheet metal front frame rails would crumple that way. oops
Chevrolet Camaro Driver (1999) | This is clearly a Chevrolet Camaro. Please correct this.
unknown Driver (1999) | Just rambling here but Driver's vehicle damage was very realistic to how the cars would crumple in real life. IRL if you had a heavy full frontal crash (say 25-30 mph into a concrete wall or 40-55 mph into a lighter stationary car) in a 61-70 pontiac (which includes the PC version of this car, and this car too if you still think it's a Bonneville) it would crumple behind the front wheels. If you crash this car in-game the front wheels appear to move back. They probably don't actually move back (I think the damage textures just make it appear that way) but no other car acts like that ingame (which is also realistic for the most part). A 68 Cadillac or any Mopar from that era would not crumple like that, so that's part of an argument for this car being at least related to a Pontiac. It's also some attention to detail any normal person (not a car nerd like me) would never notice.
Buick Century Driver (1999) | I think I've finally found out what this car is - a 1976-1977 Buick Century with Landau roof. Its either a Special or base model based on the roofline, but given that it has the V8 engine sound and isn't slow as a turtle it's probably the base model with the 350 V8. Most photos you'll see of these cars with this roofline and landau roofs will be of Specials, but they were available on the base model Century also. The Century Custom had the separate roofline which was shared with the Regals of the same year. What's interesting about this car is that it reuses the same textures as the red Buick Regal from Miami - Even the taillights are the same, just made much smaller and turned vertical. Something that's also funny is when you completely damage this car its entire rear end crumples in, making it look like a liftback/hatchback. www.championmotorsinternational.com/1976-buick-special-c-921.htm classiccarcatalogue.com/B/buick%201976%20Florida_SunCoupe.jpg www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/buick/bu77/bilder/35.jpg The first 2 links are pictures, the 3rd one is an information sheet that shows the options and models of the 1977 Buick intermediates (including this car). I really hope I'm not the first one in 25 years to find out what this car is... -- Last edit: 2024-05-20 23:00:48
Chevrolet Nova Driver (1999) | Has Camaro taillights. When I played this game as a kid I always thought it was a 2 door version of the Los Angeles car lol
Pontiac LeMans Driver (1999) | Clearly a 1970 Pontiac midsizer rather than a 1972 based on the front grille. i.pinimg.com/originals/b0/8c/85/b08c852e247506fce437e6cbbe4eb7de.jpg Picture it with the big chrome nose in the middle of the grille removed, and you have the ingame car. -- Last edit: 2024-05-13 00:18:54 (Klumb3r)
Ford Fairlane Driver (1999) | PS1 version of this car looks more like a 66 Chevy 2 SS, at least to me. cdn-fastly.thetruthaboutcars.com/media/2022/07/19/9329824/em-bodacious-beaters-and-road-going-derelicts-em-chevy-ii-faded.jpg?size=720x845&nocrop=1 cdn-fastly.thetruthaboutcars.com/media/2022/07/19/9329806/em-bodacious-beaters-and-road-going-derelicts-em-chevy-ii-faded.jpg?size=720x845&nocrop=1 cdn-fastly.thetruthaboutcars.com/media/2022/07/19/9329821/em-bodacious-beaters-and-road-going-derelicts-em-chevy-ii-faded.jpg?size=720x845&nocrop=1 -- Last edit: 2024-05-12 23:50:18 (Klumb3r)
Buick Century Driver (1999) | Looks like the front half of a 78 Buick Regal with the back half of a 1977 Monte Carlo grafted on. If you use it in game, you can tell that the rear half has huge hips that are way out of proportion with the front. -- Last edit: 2024-05-12 23:45:51
Chevrolet Chevelle Driver (1999) | Obviously based off of a 1972 Chevelle based on the rear end and body shape. www.nfiempire.com/imagetag/273/7/l/Used-1972-Chevrolet-Chevelle-SS-Sport-Coupe-1668205823.jpg www.nfiempire.com/imagetag/273/8/l/Used-1972-Chevrolet-Chevelle-SS-Sport-Coupe-1668205824.jpg -- Last edit: 2024-05-12 23:45:50 (Klumb3r)
Ford Mustang Mach 1 Driver (1999) | Might also be a 1970 Mark Donohue Javelin SST www.reddit.com/r/classiccars/comments/ffc9za/1970_amc_javelin_sst_mark_donohue_edition/ imgur.com/tLUdeFS This car actually shows up on the cover of the US version of the game, where it looks like a 1972 Chevelle with some artistic license and the same generic front grille as the in-game car. -- Last edit: 2024-05-20 23:03:26

AMC Concord Driver (1999) | This is not a Cocord at all. It looks like someone grabbed a Pinto, converted it to a four-door and mashed a Torino front end on it. Should be marked as "made for game" -- Last edit: 2024-02-21 21:44:50

unknown Driver (1999) | Yeah I'm going to say it's a 66 Caddy because that is going to be the closest we're going to get, it's rear is from a Mopar, and Mopar never really got into the stacked headlights craze of the mid to late 1960s, aside for the Plymouth Fury, and the Fury's headlights are connected to the grill, while this isn't
unknown Driver (1999) | 1965 Cadillac Deville
unknown Driver (1999) | OK, it's not exactly a Pontiac Bonneville. The front lights are, as already mentioned by my prescriber, the only thing from a Bonneville. The rear and body type of the car are different from the Pontiac. That's why I think we should edit the car again to unknown. Until it is confirmed, what car it really is.
Driver (1999) | One of my alltime favorite games. These Childhood memoires... Times flies, but i still play this from time to time. Classic game, in my opinion never gets old. PlayStation 1 version of Driver was/is by far my favorite version of the game.

Jaguar XJ12 Driver (1999) | yep number is engine type. That's why I ask is it possible to tell such cars in a game? if they are not specifically listed, and licensed. just saying its kinda hard to judge unless the game gives hints? Drove an 87 CJ6 for one single year. Missed out on my change to have a v12 there huh? hah maybe one day. Still never has a v12 car.
Jaguar XJ12 Driver (1999) | twilight sparkplug wrote Not sure on these ones. Any way to tell between the 6 8 and 12? other than badging? I was going more on the design of the rear taillights rather than the front. The taillights look like the ones used in the 70s rather than the design they used in the 80s. Also from what I understand the number denotes the engine type. So XJ6s had the inline 6, XJ8s had the V8 and XJ12s had the V12. Also the XJ8 came later in the 90s. So it's either an 6 or 12. -- Last edit: 2020-05-23 01:15:37
