Austin Mini Cooper S Forza Horizon (2012) | carcrasher88 wrote It's actually quite a surprise that the Austin trademark couldn't have been acquired, since Turn 10 (who, of course, is working with Playground Games on this game) was able to get licensing for the MG marque, which, like Austin, is owned by SAIC in China. The most logical explanation would probably be that either BMW or SAIC didn't want to share licensing on this car, hence it being listed in game as a MINI (BMW trademark) without Austin badges, and having the German flag instead of the British flag associated with the car. Makes me wonder why they didn't put the 6R4 Metro in there. Then they would have had the complete set of every memorable Group B car (unless they got their hands on a BX 4TC).

Ford Fiesta Forza Horizon (2012) | True. The game's out pretty soon, and I'm fairly certain people who got the game early will find a way of obtaining them.

Ford Fiesta Forza Horizon (2012) | I can't be 100% sure as I'm not developer. The best way is to wait and see.

Ford Fiesta Forza Horizon (2012) | Antti-san wrote I'm pretty sure this is a real unicorn a la FM, not a barnfind. Badned said: "Regarding winning Unicorns, you can get the Saleen S5S Raptor gifted to you if you play the game within the first week of release." That's what I meant the first time. So now I'm confused; do we really find a 3-year old economy car rusting away in a barn or do we receive them as gifts? Let's be honest, the latter is more likely.
Austin Mini Cooper S Forza Horizon (2012) | Well, I asked Badned about it and this is what he had to say: "As I said earlier for Horizon Microsoft licensed the car through BMW and as such it cannot wear any logos or names which rights are not in the possession of the BMW Group. In the future, if everything goes as planned it will be under its right make." -- Last edit: 2012-10-15 16:22:56

Ford Fiesta Forza Horizon (2012) | Really? Wow, I thought it was just the classic cars and the EB110 which were barn finds. That is a pretty stupid idea to be honest. I could understand if they made the 595 SS and the Austin Mini barn finds, but a Fiesta? -- Last edit: 2012-10-15 13:10:08
Ford Fiesta Forza Horizon (2012) | Because these cars can be find in barns. I know that putting Fiesta in the barn is actually stupid idea, but what can you do?
Ford Fiesta Forza Horizon (2012) | If that's the case, then why are various random cars (such as this Fiesta) being labelled as unicorns and unlockable?
Ford Fiesta Forza Horizon (2012) | IIRC the unicorns are so called barnfinds in this game. You have to find a barns they're located in in order to acquire them. -- Last edit: 2012-10-15 12:46:40
Ford Fiesta Forza Horizon (2012) | Are unicorns acquired the same way as in the previous Forzas, or is through the levelling up system in online multiplayer? Since there's about 5 unicorns and there is also an achievement for winning 7 cars online, I was just wondering if that's how it's done. EDIT: This is made for GB, seeing as it's the same as the one from Forza 4. Plus, Fiestas weren't sold until 2010 in the US. -- Last edit: 2012-10-15 12:38:23

Austin Mini Cooper S Forza Horizon (2012) | I hope they can fix that for FM5.
Austin Mini Cooper S Forza Horizon (2012) | At least the badges can be painted back. But seeing such an icon with a german flag under it...
Austin Mini Cooper S Forza Horizon (2012) | It's because they got the licence through BMW, not Austin. I think that's also why it's labeled as country: germany in game

Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda Forza Horizon (2012) | I'm glad that you're agreeing with me. One of the things I love in Forzas was the fact that I can drive cars that I couldn't drive in any other games (Ford Country Squire, Mitsubishi Galant and Starion, Toyota Celica Supra, almost all generations of Celica, Subaru Legacy, Ford Fairlane Thuderbolt and many many others rare cars). Forza Horizon can't give me that now. I wonder what they will be putting in the add-ons? I really hope it won't be all cars from FM4 all over again (I would like to see many of them, but paying for all of them all over again will suck). Did someone checked if the Renaults are not on disk? -- Last edit: 2012-10-13 23:06:11

Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda Forza Horizon (2012) | Tycek wrote Number of cars isn't that much of a problem as car list quality. In MC:LA we've got even smaller number of cars, but they were simply more interesting. In FH we've got NFS all over again. We've got a lot of supercars, which are generally overused and appealing more to children. FM2 got better list than this. Here we've got two Toyotas(overused Supra RZ and overused Sprinter Trueno), two Subarus, two Mitsubishis (both Lancers). This is the biggest issue that's putting me off. This and the fact that they gonna spawn a lot of add-ons just to justify the fact of giving boring car list in the first place. You said they expect us to use few favourites of ours. I don't see any favourites of mine there, so I'll skip it for now. In fairness, that is true. The DLC, provided it's not a re-run of cars which should have been there anyway *cough* Renaults *cough*, should at least be mildly interesting, and provide a good set up for cars to expect in Forza 5. But yes, I agree that they could of used some of the more 'niche' cars (so to speak), such as the Escort RS1800 from Forza 4, and am still questioning as to why they didn't use them. Even TDU2 - for all its flaws - had some interesting cars you don't see in games too often. Also, my other comment about it being an open world game detracting from the car list is completely redundant - if they're planning on so much DLC, there's obviosuly space to add more cars anyway. Why not add a 3rd disc? Impractical, sure, but we'd be getting alot more variety if that was the case.

Honda CR-X Forza Horizon (2012) | Antti-san wrote Considering all the cars that got culled for one reason or another, this seems pretty out-of-place in the carlist now anyways. Especially in RHD form :L
Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda Forza Horizon (2012) | Tycek wrote Only 137? GTFO with that game. I won't touch that till complete edition. Way to go guys, really. Thats the price you pay for having a massive open world. Besides, this isn't like Forza 4 where it throws money at you at every chance. This is one of those driving games where they expect to use a select few favourite cars instead of just filling you garage. |
