2023-11-10 04:44 | Well, I never knew PG would stoop so low to fund extra dollars to get cars, and yet they found a way to. Now, this update brought up the Autoshow Voucher boosters, and it seems like they just cut a deal with EA in this dastardly excuse. These vouchers are not for exclusive cars; they're for the Autoshow cars, most of which is worthless considering the Festival Playlist gives you 30 each series. They are willing to put up real money in exchange for vouchers, which is rather dumb. But considering how some cars' values have gone through the roof, especially with classic cars, that might've been the case. Total bone-headed decision by the devs, rightly so. |

2023-11-10 02:31 | Interesting note: This Belvedere is not 100% factory original. If you go into Forzavista and open the hood, under the air cleaner you'll see 'Street Dominator', which is a line of intake manifolds made by Holley. Looking at the valve cover on the driver's side, there's a non-original (but technically OEM) Mopar breather cap installed on what might not be original valve covers. Interestingly, the air cleaner is missing the Commando 426 decal, which indicates that either the decal was removed or the cover had been replaced with a new OEM cover that lacked the decal, as the cover itself is a factory part, not aftermarket.

2023-10-21 22:32 | Not to mention they cut so many corners with cars. Was it licensing? Certainly not, since the game launched with 500 cars, and FH4 finished with at least 700 cars. Keep in mind this was in development when Mike Brown was the creative director of PG. He made EventLab, sure, but he has also made a lot of misguided decisions with FH5 over the course of 2022, which is, but not limited to: -Recycling cars from FH4 and pretended they were new content, when they're just straight-up ports from FH4 -The sudden appearance of Chinese cars to Forza, against anyone's will, rather than Mexican cars -No changes to Eliminator (and the map is designed FOR Eliminator, hence why Mexico is bland) -Misleading updates (Series 14 and 16 are arguably the worst examples) -Disrespected the 10th Anniversary update in a bonfire I totally get that getting Mexican cars is very much difficult and had that happened, the game would've been released in late 2022. But no, they had to release it in 2021, give us only one Mexican car which was in FM7, and called it a day. This is in stark contrast of FH3 which was an ode to the Australian car culture. So, too did FH4, which had an impressive array of British motoring. FH5 didn't try at all until now, and I could not agree more. Not to mention they had a severely outdated list of cars, meaning they're just treating the brands they have as a charity case. -- Last edit: 2023-10-21 22:34:43

That's the main issue with the car list in FH5, they didn't focus on the local car culture, they just recycled what they already had and called it a day. With FH3 and FH4 the local content was flooding from the start, and this Tsuru should have been from the beginning too (they really thought people wouldn't push for Mexican market cars? Especially with FH3 and FH4 as examples, as if Mexico doesn't deserve that attention) and in fact, when announced I was expecting at the very least the following cars: -1999 Dodge Ramcharger -2014 Mastretta MXT -1969 Shelby GT350 (Mexican version) -1981 VAM Lerma -2003 Volkswagen Sedán 1600i Última Edición And the Tsuru of course. Again, sourcing and licensing are nightmare worlds of their own, but it looks they didn't even tried this time...

2023-10-21 21:20 | Well that's what they had to do with sourcing a decrepit car like the Tsuru (which is just a modernized version of the 1992 Sentra). Many of the Tsurus were worn out, which is precisely why T10 and Playground source pristine models for many of these vehicles - which is extremely hard to do with common items like this one since they were worn out over time. Considering this car had over 4,000 votes on the suggestions hub I can see why the Tsuru was needed for Mexico since it was iconic there. -- Last edit: 2023-10-21 21:22:00
J-2 photo_librarymode_comment 2023-10-21 13:29 | Funny how they had a really hard time finding a factory stock version for sourcing, and even though this is really clean, it still has some issues, such as the missing Nissan badge in the rear, an aftermarket switch in the interior, left of the steering wheel (probably to manually activate the radiator fan) and most notably, a missing cover in the central tunnel just in front of the rear seats which allows you to see technical parts normally hidden beneath.

2023-10-15 02:10 | That's because it is a British model, hence why it is RHD. Playground likely sourced a localized model as-is. Just trying to clarify what was being said before.
J-2 photo_librarymode_comment 2023-10-14 13:13 | pwingcustom wrote Surprised it's a RHD car, not a LHD example. Sourcing has been quite a mess historically in Forza. Ideally each model should represent their country/region, but we have a mixed bag, some JDM models are JP-Spec, some are Euro-Spec, some US-Spec...some classic British models are LHD, some European cars such as this and the newest Audi RS4 Avant are RHD, and more...I think the only thing left to see would be a JP-Spec US car, such as the Mk.V Mustang in Gran Turismo. I understand they take what they can gets their hands into for reference, but still, it's quite a weird mix of specs all across the list.

2023-10-08 05:25 | I personally don't think doubleposting helps in that regard. As for everything else, I think this car would've served in FM23, but T10 didn't include it. Which is dumb. I largely dislike most cars from the 2000s because they are just terrible cars, aside from iconic models like the Carrera GT. The Magnum SRT8 here is the lone exception for American cars that aren't trash.
Victor_2003 photo_librarymode_comment 2023-10-08 00:40 | Great to see Forza Horizon are remembering the existence of the cool 2000s, its boring to see modern games everytime bring the same popular vehicles instead of bring those ones too.
