This is because they are specifically built for racing, and usually can not be driven on normal city streets legally. Therefore, Demolition Derby cars and road rally cars do not get the race car classification.

So either they're all race cars (cause they are racing in a racing series and therefore need a number on them due to the regulations) or we go with what they look like. I vote for the latter.
