That car from Death Race 2000 was a C3 Corvette, so would the Eagle be based on a C3 Corvette?

I always thought this car more or less resembled a McLaren F1, especially because of the headlights. The Yellow Hawk looks closer like an F1 though because of the position of the front windshield. What do you guys think?
