antp 2006-09-22 20:46 | en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carmageddon Captures made on PC in hi-res mode using 3Dfx acceleration. Shortcut for taking screen captres: Shift+D Original game: Among the unlockable cars, some can be unlocked in the races, others can only be used at the end, when all races are completed. Those that can be unlocked in race are "rewards" that you get by destroying these opponents. Only the following are concerned: Grunge Buster, The Plow, The Bear, Caddy Fat Cat, Tow Meister, The Twister, Tashita, Annihilator. Splat Pack: A little later an add-on was released, featuring new cars and tracks, the Glide (3Dfx) support - which could be applied to the original game too. Like in the first version of the game, some cars can be unlocked in the races: Doozer, Rig O'Mortis, Stodge Barger, Monster Masher, Carrerasaur, Annihilator II. And like in the original game: Grunge Buster, The Plow, The Bear, Caddy Fat Cat, Tow Meister, The Twister, Tashita. Cars availability: The following cars appear in both original game and the Splat Pack: Caddy Fat Cat, The Bear, Grunge Buster, Squad Car, Stiffshifter, Suppressor, The Plow, Towmeister, Electric Blue, Tashita, The Twister. Only in original game: Hevy Impaler, Cleaver, Fearari 666, Fraud Broko, Countslash, Annihilator, Lumberer, Pinkpulveriser, Project X, Razorbill, Red Eagle, Road Bratt, Street Eater, Tanka, Yellow Hawk, Cullwing, King Merc, Leadpumper, Volkswerker. Only in the Splat Pack: Stiletto, Killer Coop, Bugutti, Piecemaker, De Gory'un, Stodge Barger, F999, The Sled, Blood Mobile, Monster Masher, Killer Kitty, Ramraider, Annihilator II, Doozer, Eagle II, Hawk II, Roadhog, Rig O'Mortis, Carrerasaur. -- Last edit: 2009-03-06 14:42:40 |
Explorer4x4 2006-09-23 19:35 | I like the game's names for the cars. ![]() |
G-MANN 2006-10-08 17:52 | I remember this, though I've never had the pleasure of playing it. It was THE controversial driving game before GTA. |
antp 2006-10-08 19:01 | It is really fun to play. The car was not so easy to handle though. For that Carmageddon II is, IMHO, still a reference (and also for the way car get damaged in a nice/realistic way, I never saw that in another game...) But the concept of the game, the size of the maps (you can drive freely in a large city) and lots of small other details make this game one of my favourites. -- Last edit: 2006-10-08 19:03:30 |
qwerty_86 2006-10-08 19:27 | I've never played the original Carmageddon, but I love Carmageddon 2. I don't like the default cars, but the crash engine was the best I've ever seen so I'd load it with user made cars such as Chevettes, Tempos, Cavaliers, Caravans, Caprices, Taurus, LTDs, LeSabres, Delta 88s, etc. and go to town with destruction. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2006-10-08 19:28:54 |
antp 2006-10-08 20:38 | Yes there are some very nice cars that could be added. I remember a Rover SD1 that was quite realistic, like those that you posted. But it would maybe be better to put these screenshots on the Carmageddon II page... (that I will complete very soon) -- Last edit: 2006-10-08 20:39:24 |
Explorer4x4 2006-10-09 02:46 | TEMPO? I NEED IT! |
qwerty_86 2006-10-09 05:12 | ![]() The Tempo was a very early model. I'll probably get some pictures of it with battle wounds. ![]() |
Explorer4x4 2006-10-09 06:36 | Looks like mine, second generation. Except mine is grey and doesn't have any rust on it. |
qwerty_86 2006-10-09 06:39 | Bwahahaha!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Explorer4x4 2006-10-09 17:37 | Ha, ha, ha. Very funny. What is the point of the game? You just destroy stuff? |
Donington 2006-10-09 19:27 | Wasn't there some cool banger racing downloads too? |
antp 2006-10-09 20:11 | Yes, for Carmageddon II there was also a mod with tracks & cars for banger racing. www.3dactionplanet.com/carmageddon/banger_info.shtml |
qwerty_86 2006-10-11 07:42 | Yeah, pretty much. The checkpoint races were pretty pointless since you could just destroy the other cars and win the race. |
crazyforcars12 2007-09-02 11:56 | I used to have this, it was excellent! |
lastinpurple 2007-11-23 23:25 | SD1? I NEED IT! |
CrazyCars 2007-11-24 08:44 | What??? an SD1? why is it not listed, i need it too? |
Star Wars Fanatic 2007-11-24 11:49 | It sounds like these are external modifications, so unless they are official downloads they would not be listed. |
carchasesfanatic 2007-11-24 12:49 | Oh my God look at that damage ![]() |
lastinpurple 2007-11-27 20:57 | where did you get your downloads qwerty? |
lastinpurple 2007-12-02 01:05 | I found it! Is this one? carmageddon.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/cars2_freddy_page1.shtml (last of all) |
lastinpurple 2007-12-24 18:29 | I've got this game an I absolutely adore it. Well, I don't like the fact that you have to hit pedestrians for credits, but the damage is superb![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2008-01-02 22:54:50 |
OptimusBling 2008-12-07 16:13 | God, I need to find this game again. Along with Carma II. |
takumi 2009-01-21 11:06 | hey les modérateurs ! y'a pleins d'images que vous avez pas mis qui sont sur cet page notamment pour la circulation dans le jeu |
subzero 2009-01-21 12:02 | You mean there are missing cars? |
takumi 2009-01-21 13:17 | its a pics from the game ? no ? |
Star Wars Fanatic 2009-01-21 13:40 | No, they are unofficial modded cars. |
Rinspeed 2009-03-05 18:03 | It's the cars of Playstation version that you had send? The first is already here (Impala). The second 2CV is on the splat pack (perhaps we could put carmageddon and his pack on the same page like we do now), the third (Jaguar) is'nt already listed. |
1973 2009-03-05 18:19 | Yes they are from the playstation since the PSX logo is next to the PC logo, i thougt lets put the pictures from the PSX version on here. -- Last edit: 2009-03-05 21:02:31 |
Gino 2009-03-07 02:28 | Aaah, Good times, Good times... I remember playing it when I was 9, My uncle had the game at the time, And I asked him of I could play, and he had something like: 'Why not'. Gino |
kazimann 2009-11-16 00:58 | Brilliant game! |
1973 2010-03-02 18:19 | This game is acctully from 1995, Splat pack was from 1997 and PSX from 1998 . |
Antti-san 2011-02-15 18:39 | My favorite game in the series - I recently installed good old Carma again and I have to say playing this game sure brings back many childhood memories! ![]() ![]() I also have to say that many of the cars are surprisingly accurate to their real-life counterparts. |
Antti-san 2011-02-22 09:31 | I uploaded an unplayable civilian car, which can been seen parked around the tracks. It doesn't move, but it can be pushed around. ![]() |
Star Wars Fanatic 2011-05-24 21:17 | Sounds like a new Carmageddon will be announced June 1st! drivinggamespro.com/uncategorized/new-carmageddon-to-be-announced-june-1st/ |

108092 2011-06-13 15:47 | c'est quoi le but du jeu s'il vous plait ? : D |
Ditha57 2011-08-02 22:21 | Yap, I think it was controversial enough. However, I do love this game as I smash them all only with the begining car, which was the best car to handle. |
Gamer 2011-12-27 15:14 | I'd buy this game if it werent for the fact that you can kill people/animals in it. |
1973 2012-02-04 01:14 | That would take away the point of its exiscitense and everything it stands for now would it not ? -- Last edit: 2012-02-04 01:31:25 |
lcpdcv 2012-02-04 01:50 | Wow, just wow. |
Maxine (24) 2012-02-12 17:57 | Same as me then, I would buy call of duty, if you dident have to shoot people in it, |

Gamer 2012-04-20 18:40 | Reminds me of Rigs of Rods, which should be added here too, but I´m not sure which version first. |
Gamer 2012-10-30 20:52 | The N64 version is the SHIT, STH. (So they say)The people were replaced by zombies, which look more like green-blooded fat guys, the cars feel like shopping carts and the physics are unreal. Carmageddon 64 is the worst Carmgeddon ever right after Carmageddon 3. |
sajmon14 2012-10-30 21:51 | They replaced humans with zombies because the game was too brutal. PC version had zombies too (not in all versions) |
Antti-san 2012-10-31 04:27 | And the Germans got robots: www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7NG9cm3UzI ![]() |
RacingFreak (98) 2012-10-31 09:24 | The german way of censoring violence. |
sajmon14 2012-10-31 13:11 | Do you remember the NES game Contra? In Germany it was called Probotector and the humans were replaced with robots too |
stryder237 2012-12-10 20:05 | I tried, but seen as all of RoR's cars are use made mods, they can't be listed here. |
Gamer 2013-02-23 10:13 | In my opinion, Carmageddon 64 should have its own page. It has a different name and a new developer (Titus-ugh! Ok, the PSX version was a bit different too.) Even IGN has it on a seperate page. Also, I just noticed the German title translates as "Carmageddon-Go to Hell!" ![]() |
insanecow 2013-02-23 17:45 | Believe it or not, Titus did put their name on one good game, Incredible Crisis. It's a strange mini game collection for the PS1, and it's a lot of fun. I don't think it has any vehicles we could add, though. Here is a review that sums it up well www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FZvD_h3SWE |
Gamer 2013-02-23 18:27 | Here is what I found in IC: cdn0.spong.com/screen-shot/i/n/incredible28125/_-Incredible-Crisis-PlayStation-_.jpg 4.bp.blogspot.com/_uaSwtqIbUUc/THLfQC0D_rI/AAAAAAAAADg/tMv-XrWS9Bs/s400/incredible_crisis_003.jpg a248.e.akamai.net/f/248/1856/90m/img.youtube.com/vi/D4WM0Kj7Kbk/mqdefault.jpg |
insanecow 2013-02-23 18:28 | I totally forgot about those for some reason, oops. It's been a while since I played it. -- Last edit: 2013-02-23 18:32:04 |
victorvance 2013-02-23 18:40 | So I would say add Incredible Crisis to IGCD! |
insanecow 2013-02-23 18:45 | Sure. |
victorvance 2013-02-24 01:58 | The game is heavily inspired by the movie Death Race 2000 from 1975. The story and even the atmosphere are very similiar. www.imcdb.org/movie_72856-Death-Race-2000.html Also the car design looks familiar. Here is the car Silvester Stallone is driving in this movie (yes it was one of his first movies): ![]() It could also be in this game! |

Twilight Sparkplug (20) 2017-05-01 19:26 | I understand why PlayStation cars appear on games like Need for speed, or Driver, But why are the PSX cars on this? that was a completely different game, even made by different people. on a different system, Different engine, cars, maps, developer, system. |
Klumb3r 2018-07-18 04:03 | Rinspeed, is there any way to move cars (with the comments included) to another page? As Twilight Sparkplug said, the PSX Carmageddon is totally different from the PC Carmageddon. |
