The XLR-V was, in fact, barely more powerful than a base model C6, and the base XLR was a snail in comparison to the base model C6. That was mainly because of the underpowered Northstar V8s under the hood, as opposed to the more powerful LS series engines in the Corvette. Aside from being more luxurious, the XLR was the Corvette's lesser brother.

Not sure about the analogy, RUF doesn't tune Porsches, they make their own cars based on Porsche bodies in white (and the new CTR is entirely original).

It appears that Take 2 didn't get the license from the SCCA for 'Trans-Am'. All the characters and even the police dispatcher refer to this as a Trans Am anyway. Info on the website specifies this has having the Pontiac 400 and WS6 Suspension package.
