kylebuilder photo_librarymode_comment 2020-03-28 10:15 | It would make more sense if it was an Eighth generation (S130) Crown or Nissan Cedric/ Gloria Y31 as that would fit the period as they would be brand new models. but there are some period inaccuracies that I found in this game, For example, some of the real-life drinks you can buy in the in game stores have modern packaging designs.
RushCars24 photo_librarymode_comment 2020-02-25 01:22 | Alright, it's time to re-identify this car yet again, since we have leave this as a Nissan MID4 for temporarily reasons, the MID4 don't work however, this car looks anachronistic, while Yakuza 0 sets in the 80s, this car looks too modern, it is mostly resembles to those 90s supercars. Either a Lotus Esprit or a Ferrari 348 came up to my mind. Any other thoughts? Also, this car was first appeared in Yakuza 3, that sets in 2007 and 2009: www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=209012 It was later reused in Kiwami 1: www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=209013

RushCars24 photo_librarymode_comment 2017-12-30 12:21 | I don't know what the hell y'all talking about, but this is actually a 1995-1999 Toyota Crown Hardtop [S150] with a front fascia from a 1985-1989 Toyota Carina ED [ST160]. Cadillac Seville is ruled out; this game sets in Japan and while Sevilles may rarely seen as imports in there, I don't see this thing being inspired by American sedans. 1990-1994 Lexus LS 400 [XF10] is also ruled out; sure enough, both the Crown and LS were full-size sedans, but I think the depicted luxury level on this feels more towards to the Crown over the Lexus. Also, the Lexus LS in its first three generations was initially sold in Japan as the Toyota Celsior until the introduction of the Lexus brand to the JDM market in 2006. -- Last edit: 2023-11-13 11:23:44
RushCars24 photo_librarymode_comment 2017-12-30 11:47 | This one cannot be a Crown Comfort. Keep it mind, the Crown Comfort name hasn't appeared in the 80s UNTIL 1995, despite 90s Crown Comfort-esque taxis were really presented in this game set in 1988. Below is the front view of this car, screencapped from the game's walkthrough video series by Willzyyy (the left one): The green star isn't needed since it did appeared in-game, via Chapter 13: Crime and Punishment (spoiler alert), where you have to destroy a wave of these cars during the highway shootout sequence. It seems to be a hybrid mix between Toyota-Nissan-Mazda sedans from the 80s and 90s. 1987-1991 Toyota Crown Hardtop [S130] and fifth generation Mazda Luce [HC] were the first ones came to my mind, but given this car has a rounded front fascia, another close candidate is a 1991-1995 Nissan Cedric [Y32]. I think I just leave it as a S130 Crown Hardtop as temporarily until if we can identify this car further later. EDIT (11/13/2023) Wow, I can't believe how aged is this comment was back then. I had to make this quality-of-life update after finding an old comment by Doseisan in its Yakuza Kiwami 2 entry, potentially solving this mystery of this vehicle after many years; I think I may agree with Doseisan for this being a Nissan Cedric [Y32] over a S130 Crown Hardtop by that rounded front shape combined with the overall body design. This makes no surprise, turns out Yakuza 0 isn't the first appearance for this car, this model pre-dates all the way back to Yakuza 3 and Yakuza 4. By the front fascia design (minus front bumper), we can negate 1991-1992, it is based on the 1993-1995 model. Some users pointed out it has styling cues from 1997-2017 Toyota Century [G50] and 1990-2002 Nissan President [HG50], but I don't think this car were based on those two entirely, only small cues were used, especially the Century's two-tone color style applied on the pre-Dragon Engine versions Will update this later, I'm taking this confirmation to the official IGCD Discord server. ANOTHER EDIT (11/13/2023) Or maybe, Doseisan was wrong with that. If y'all don't know, there's actually a modified version of this car, but that was listed as a 1995 Toyota Crown [S150]. SatoFJWRA mentioned me at the IGCD Discord server, this is definitely a Toyota Crown, but rather a tenth generation [S150] over the intended eight generation [S130], especially the 1995-1999 Hardtop models. The most closest one Sato recommends for this car is the second generation Crown Majesta [S150], also from 1995-1999. The front fascia, taillights and length really matches to the Majesta version. However, I am still thinking that it's more of a Nissan over a Toyota when viewing that whole hardtop roof design. Anyone here in this site are free to help this out, I can deliver your whole agreement to the Discord server if y'all here went ahead and edit the entries first. -- Last edit: 2023-11-15 05:37:27
RushCars24 photo_librarymode_comment 2017-12-30 11:23 | This is NOT a S130 Crown, even more, the "Crown Comfort" name wasn't came out in the 1980s until 1995, the body is 100% from the Crown Comfort, but the year is actually WRONG. Here's the front view of the car from one of Willzyyy's walkthrough of the game (the right one), shown below is from 13th chapter of the game, Crime and Punishment, where you will be ridden in this taxi while taking out enemies in a highway shootout chase, but you CAN'T drive it at all. And the actual chassis code for the Crown Comfort is actually YXS10 or LXS10. In case why, I'll leave the chassis code to all Crown Comforts in here as [XS10] to avoid some mixed confusions. Wikipedia wrote YXS10/LXS10 — The YXS10/LXS10 was the first vehicle to be identified as the Crown Comfort. The car (LPG version) was released in 2001. Prefix Y means it uses Y-series engine (LPG) and prefix L means it uses L-series engine (diesel). It also boasted automatic doors and a 4-speed automatic transmission became standard in 2004 in some markets. -- Last edit: 2019-06-03 16:16:23
