2011-05-14 15:16 | Well, there is a TZ2 in this game, so a GT40 would seem likely, as they were both used for racing (The TZ2 was a street car, yes, unlike the GT40). |

2011-05-14 04:40 | GT43 sounds cool. I wonder if they'll have the old one. And I'd love to see one with the Gulf paint job And this one is a bit of a stretch, but I think it'd be WAY cool to have a GT90 in this game also |

They were going to be called 'GT40', but here's the reason why they weren't: A British company, Safir Engineering, who built continuation GT40s in the 1980s, owned the "GT40" trademark at that time. When they completed production, they sold the excess parts, tooling, design, and trademark to a small Ohio company called Safir GT40 Spares. This company licensed the use of the "GT40" trademark to Ford for the initial 2002 show car. When Ford decided to make the production vehicle, negotiations between the two firms failed. The production cars do not wear the GT40 badge. A shame, really. But.. It does kindof make sense. The GT was 43 Inches high from the lowest point to the roof, where as the GT40, was 40 Inches, hence it's name. But still, a lovely car indeed. |
