I don't think the brands are based on anything, other than a country. Even then some are pretty iffy, specifically the European ones.
Sure, the 500 GT is a GT40 and the Thunder Custom is a Mercury, but the GT Concept and the Annihilator are definitely a Camaro and a GTX respectively. The others could be based on multiple cars, really.

Looks more like a 1970s Ford Torino with 1960s Camaro tailights to me.

The front have silhouette of Torino, but the rear still have Charger silhouette.
