Buick Regal Watch Dogs (2014) | krq9 wrote I'm pretty sure the only reason Buick wasn't axed during GM's restructuring was Buick's huge market share in China. Otherwise it would have made more sense keeping the Saturn brand for dumping Opel designs in the US. As for Buick's identity, the recent Opel based models are far more interesting cars than the beigemobiles they made in the 90s. The previous Regal/Century was one of the most faceless and bland vehicles ever sold. In my opinion Opel designs have really made Buick a more attractive brand than they were in late 90s to 00s. Well it's Opel, Buick designs were tidious and boring .buick to me has become a badge used on American opels. Because here the buicks on sale aren't the Opel ones. Because Opel has a market here

Buick Regal Watch Dogs (2014) | From checking a little bit more precisely,i'm thinkink its actually a mix between the Regal & the Jetta (Regal front & side shape, and Jetta's back shape).
Buick Regal Watch Dogs (2014) | Ok. Except for the rear, the headlights have almost the same shape, with two projector headlights. The Acura have LEDs like the Leo, though these are details. The grille in the Leo is higher and larger than the RL, yet similar for placement and shape. Except for other two air intakes in the front bumper, the rest is almost the same. In the side, there are two main "belt-lines" (we call it so in automotive design): one for the door-handles, and this is used in Leo and RL, the other one quite lower, placed a just above the bottom of the doors. The rear is sloping in both sedans. The roof-line is not that common: in the Leo is quite Audi-esque, while the RL is a bit more boxy. This is a detail that you can notice even in the side windows shape. EDIT: Plus, they have the same exhausts. -- Last edit: 2016-05-23 21:29:25
Buick Regal Watch Dogs (2014) | Catan69 wrote Hmmm, I still think it's an Acura RL. Weeeell, looks like this time Ubisoft has given to us a true challenge. I take it you mean this one: webcarstory.com/voiture.php?id=8630 Would you like to point out why you think it looks like the RL? For me the grille, headlights and shape of the trunk don't match the RL very well. And the roofline is rather common on mid-size sedans I believe.

Buick Regal Watch Dogs (2014) | Tuppence870 wrote Seriously?? Firstly, GM took full control of Opel back in 1931, at the height of Buick's success. I'm fairly sure Opel models have only been rebranded as Buicks since the Opel Astra became the Chinese Buick Excelle XT in 2009. Obviously, they're talking about the newest 2010+ Buick Regal, which is a rebranded 2008+ Opel Insignia. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1e/2011_Buick_Regal_CXL.jpg On inspection of the bodylines, I certainly agree with the Buick Regal, although the front is very similar to the Acura RL. But I must stress, this is NOT Made for Game - it's a Buick Regal. i know GM bought Opel back then , the omega and corsa. Early 2000s. All I'm saying GM has been asigning almost all their new opels designs basically to Buick because it wasn't selling that great They didn't want a fuck up. They didn't close Pontiac down so that Buick has a risk to get bankrupt. To me Buick lost its identity

But I must stress, this is NOT Made for Game - it's a Buick Regal. Actually, I believe the first Opel to be sold as a Buick was the Opel Corsa B, which in December 2000 started Chinese production under the name Buick Sail. Since a couple of years, it has lost its ties to the Opel and is now called Chevrolet Sail. And yes we were talking about the current Buick Regal, I believe it had considerable influence on the design of this car. I don't really see an Acura RL in the front, the headlights are too round for that.

Buick Regal Watch Dogs (2014) | Check the size. A Jetta is not a Lexus ES. The Leo is a japanese sedan, if we must control what the game says. And so, Jetta is out. Plus, Japanese sedans that are meant to be sold in US/EU markets tend to have an aestethic that is studied just for that kind of market, of country. This explains why sometimes certain Infiniti models resemble BMW/Mercedes sedans, without losting the Japanese feeling that they still bring. I'm still quite sure this is an Acura RL. Keep in mind that European cars, especially German one, are quite... boxy and geometric about shape and lines, while Japanese cars tend to be more soft and rounded. The side if this sedan has few lines, is rounded. Extremely different from a common European full-size sedan ![]()
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Watch Dogs (2014) | Still the SLS is more dominant, the rest can be considered from various cars. after all we focus on the majority and that chassis screams SLS disregarding what the headlights or grill looks like for example
