Mirage as the game takes place in Japan.
Again, 1997. | ||
1997. | ||
Actually, a year and a bit on, it turns out this is a fictional scheme based on Richard Petty's 1979 car. The closest I can find to a Grand Prix running a scheme similar to this was in 1996, when they raced with various classic paintjobs to commemorate the teams' 25th anniversary. Here's a model of the car I'm talking about: Even still, there were fantasy contigencies in this game version, such as the classic front end and the curved hood stripes.
Just gonna reinforce what was said a couple years ago, but it's a Corvette C4.
XJR-15? | ||
Ocelot is GTA's version of Jaguar, so yes.
I wonder if we'll be getting a bigger Blista, like the one from GTA 3.
Yep, the original was almost identical to the Renault Espace F1:
But Rockstar is Scottish
Some Beetle/1300/Baja/Bug thing.
Are the tailights really THAT different from the original DB5's that you guys are dissatisfied with them?
Vario: | ||
It's actually a Toyota Starlet GT: Also, LOL @ the guy that thought it was a Jensen Interceptor.
Why do the lines of this car look drawn on?
Audi R8? | ||
So glad this replaced the old 21 Turbo page. Ugh, the comments.
solarriors wrote Isn't this a real photo ? It doesn't look like in-game. Looks too clean Probably a render.
From what I can see this almost looks like a scaled-up Hot Wheels car.
Antti-san wrote I'm sure everyone's noticed it already, but there seems to be a slight bug with the new anti-spam system - backslashes are getting added to posts that contain hyperlinks. Yeah I noticed that too.
The name makes me think this is a sequel to the SLR.
Nice detail. | ||
www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=3547 Well, it's been a while, but welcome back.
Ford78 wrote This image shows a dealership No, it shows a custom garage that the player can buy. Did you even watch the trailer?
You are kidding me right? That\'s quite clearly a 1976 312T2, as the Italian tricolore is present on the airbox. Any F1 fan worth his salt could tell you that. EDIT: Nevermind, ninja'd by 2 minutes. -- Last edit: 2013-08-18 12:31:13
Probably the Volvo on the cover.
Is this the only car removed from overseas releases or were there more?
986 is the chassis code for the Porsche Boxster, rather than a nickname.
I see an Accent in it aswell. They announced the WRC car in September 1999, so it's plausible.
The company's name is indeed Obey: -- Last edit: 2013-08-16 00:29:25
The Black/Carbon parts may also be inspired off of the FXX.
This isn't the first car they seemed to have ripped from High Stakes.
MP4-4: | ||
There we go. | ||
Looks more like a Cala to me.
bump? This is the only old Mini I've seen on IGCD that isn't listed under Rover, Austin or Morris.
I'm curious too. Who was it?
Guys, time to replace this shot already.

GroupB wrote Puma, a rally legend? Maybe in the feeder series? Mind you, I'm on the wrong side of the Atlantic, but I've never heard that before. Yeah, the Puma was pretty much the go-to car for rallycross and the S1600 category. It even had its own tournament.
Despite its power of 321 ps, it cannot be tuned with a turbo, which is odd because many tuners back then and since have often added a turbo kit to an M3 E36 to allow it to push 1000 bhp. Fully modified, as one can expect, is extremely sluggish but has decent handling for a rear wheel drive car. Still though, kudos for ordering the paint colours to look like a German flag.
I was wondering what they could be, but when I checked I didn't expect them to be 2 other Ford rally legends.
Well, there's the yellow paint.
It looks like it says "711" on the side. Will that help?
bump? | ||
They've painted it the wrong colour. The modelers decided to use the 2007 - 2009 dark red metallic that Ferrari used. Since 2010 they've swapped back to the pre-2007 Rosso Corsa.
Yes, it says 2001 on the numberplate.
Looks more like a Ferrari 308 to me.
Front definitely from a Falcon. The rest, though? Despite not being out for another decade, an Escudo Pikes Peak bares a striking resemblance to this.
