Loosely reminds me of the Italdesign Cala
Headlights are closer to DB4 than DB5
The details are far more Porsche than any Ferrari. Most likely based on a Porsche 959 or Porsche 911 GT1 (993).
Both bumper textures are taken from a Lamborghini Diablo, which this car is closer to in shape than the Countach.
F1 2021 (2021) | Attacker1997 wrote And folks, for those outside of Discord, Where can I sign up for the Discord? I wasn't active on here when it was set up, but it gets mentioned a lot and I feel like I'm missing out on half the discussion sometimes.
Neither car resembles a Ferrari P4/5 though. Both should be listed as Porsche 917K
1955-1964 Messerschmitt KR200
Some of the side details and particularly the rear seem to be taken from a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 4-Door
Genesis GV80? | ||
Mathias98 wrote I found a comment on IMCDB that explains why it's American: But that comment has fundamentally misunderstood what the origin is supposed to represent. As far as I'm aware, it's not usually the location of the original concept's design studio. The 1994 Volkswagen Concept One was designed at VW's Simi Valley design studio in California. However, the production version of the New Beetle was designed by Peter Schreyer in 1997 at VW's HQ in Wolfsburg, Germany. This is also where production started before moving to Mexico in 1999. Unlike those Brazilian and Chinese VW's, the New Beetle is not exclusive to the American market. In fact, certain key models such as the New Beetle RSi were never available in America.
Place-Holder wrote I know. But that's just how things are here. Then maybe it's time for things to change, because if there isn't a better reason for the US origin, the VW New Beetle should be listed as German from now on.
Place-Holder wrote I looked into it and asked around. To my understanding the reason the beetle is listed as american was because it was designed by an american. While that may be true, it's not uncommon in the car industry to utilise designers or design studios from another country. A good example is the Mazda MX-5 Miata, which was also designed by an American studio, but they are (rightly) listed as Japanese.
Victor_2003 wrote The New Beetle never was sold to Germany? They were both sold and built in Germany, which makes me wonder why New Beetles are listed as American on IGCD? I'm not an expert on the Beetle, but I can't seem to find any legitimate claim to support a US origin for these?
This is a strange one. It kind of looks like a Mk II Vauxhall Cavalier 1981-1988, but with the front end of an AMC Javelin
Chevrolet Astro 1995-2005
This is wrong on so many levels, but worst of all is that the side texture seems to be taken from a Vauxhall Vivaro police van, but it doesn't even properly fit on this American imposter.
I'm not sure how this was mistaken for a Fiesta, because it is clearly based on a late 00's Focus. Most likely the Ford Focus RS WRC 07 or the 2009-11 Ford Focus RS.
J-2 wrote I have only been able to find that front-end with the extended headlights all the way to the grill in the chinese Taurus, is there any pics of the chinese Mondeo with the same front? Honestly I hadn't noticed that detail and just assumed it was meant to look like the Euro Mondeo/US Fusion. I guess I stand corrected.
It's subtle, but the name leans towards a Ford Mondeo rather than Fusion, which makes sense given that's the name used in China
The name implies this is meant to be a 2018 Ferrari SF71H
2010 Peugeot EX1 Concept
Spore: Galactic Adventures (2009) | For anyone looking to help with this game, it's important to note that A) Galactic Adventures is just an expansion of the base game Spore (2008), and that B) all vehicles in this game were created using the in-game editor, including those provided by the developers. -- Last edit: 2022-02-15 19:59:31
RealCarter wrote Haven't heard about game updates before? This was one of the first cars to be added to the game (it's number #008 in game). If anything, it's probably a reference to the Mad Max Interceptor. -- Last edit: 2022-01-24 17:23:32
Not sure if this makes a difference here, but the Street Roader toy started its run as a licensed 1988 Suzuki Samurai before the Suzuki branding was removed in 1995.
Jaguar XJ (X351) with some elements from the Audi A7 (Typ 4G8) -- Last edit: 2022-01-14 17:45:09
Call me crazy, but this looks like a Holden or HSV Commodore (VF)
Auto-Friki wrote Why was it called Focus Cosworth? Was it an evolution of the 1999 Focus WRC in prototype format? It was developed by Cosworth as a potential successor to the famous Escort RS Cosworth, and yes it was inspired by the WRC car. Although I can't say for certain, this was probably developed into the original Focus RS in 2002.
The name implies this is specifically a Mazda Roadster
The name implies this is specifically a Nissan March
For the most part this is like a 2002 Explorer, even if some of the front and rear details resemble more recent models.
Rover 400 1993-1994? | ||
The front end reminds me of the Renault Kangoo 2013-2021
Auto-Friki wrote Knowing that most generations of the Transit were manufactured in the factory in Germany, from which generation did the Transit begin to be manufactured in Turkey? in the sixth generation? The main Transit model was never actually built in Germany (only the Taunus Transit was). The Transit factory timeline looks a bit like this: Germany (Taunus Transit): 1953-1965 United Kingdom: 1965-2013 Belgium: 1965-2003 Australia: 1966-1986 New Zealand: 1966-1986 Turkey: 1967-present South Africa: 1967-1974 The Netherlands: 1975-1981 China: 1997-present Belarus: 1997-2000 Vietnam: 1998-present Romania (Transit Connect): 2002-2013 Russia: 2011-present Spain (Transit Connect): 2012-present United States: 2013-present It gets complicated, and I haven't even mentioned how the current Transit is both the 4th generation and the Mk 9 because of how different markets called the mid-gen facelifts. -- Last edit: 2021-11-23 15:35:42
Auto-Friki wrote Was not the first generation made in Germany? Ford is complicated, since they make many vehicles that aren't sold in their home country. Ford Europe was created when Ford Britain & Ford Germany merged in 1967. Although they are currently based in Germany, they have factories across Europe, and many of their older models have strong British heritage. The original Transit was developed by Ford Britain in 1965, but was later built in Belgium, The Netherlands & Turkey. The Transit was also the last Ford to be built in Britain, after production was permanently moved to Turkey in 2013.
Auto-Friki wrote Sorry? Wasn't MG who sold the Metro first? It started out as the Austin Metro in 1980, but was rebranded to Rover in 1987 when the Austin name was retired. During this period, the MG name was only used for performance versions of Austin & Rover models, hence the sportier Metro was an MG.
Auto-Friki wrote Police or fire chief's car? Red police cars are used by diplomatic protection in London. Although in this game they are used by armed police.
Auto-Friki wrote This car reminds me, from the front, of the Vauxhall Corsa. It's actually based on a Vauxhall Astra (Opel Kadett E). Bedford was Vauxhall's commercial vehicle brand until the 80's.
Auto-Friki wrote Basically what was Iveco-Ford? A joint-venture with the collaboration of Iveco to provide Ford engines to its trucks? The Ford Cargo was an existing truck made by Ford UK from 1981, but Iveco bought out Ford Europe's commercial division and renamed it to the Iveco-Ford Cargo in 1991. When they introduced the Iveco EuroCargo in 1993, trucks made for the UK market kept the Iveco-Ford name until the UK plant was closed in 1997. -- Last edit: 2021-11-22 02:34:58
Looks to be a replica of the Car Town ice cream truck: www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=31512 And although that van and its variants are still listed as Divco, I maintain that they're based on a similar ice cream van from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: www.imcdb.org/vehicle_252119-Made-for-Movie-Dodge.html -- Last edit: 2021-09-25 18:29:42

Specifically this could be a Bedford Bambi, which was an official camper conversion of the UK-market Suzuki Super Carry.
Side profile suggests a Volkswagen up! 2011-present EDIT: Sometimes I wonder why I bother fact-checking my edits for small games like this, when most of the information I submit gets ignored, removed or replaced. -- Last edit: 2021-06-03 19:18:12
This is actually an altered Cavalcade by the way. It's been given a similar treatment to the Chavos and Mule in this game.
We should really be giving this the same treatment as Vice City's Infernus. In that game, a Countach was heavily modified to the point where it's almost unrecognisable, and yet we still list it as Countach because that's clearly what inspired it. This Infernus is also fairly unique-looking. It does not resemble a Vector in anything more than a superficial sense, yet we know for a fact that it was inspired by the Diablo and some details still point that way. I don't know why some people seem to be under the impression that insider or developer information is invalid when identifying a car on this site. I can think of several examples lately where that sort of thing has been very helpful to moderators. If anything, it's the most reliable source of information out there. -- Last edit: 2021-05-23 01:40:53
This livery is based on a real Lotus Esprit used by British police in 1994 www.lotusespritworld.com/EOtherstuff/PoliceEsprit.html
It immediately reminded me of this: www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=700 So, Mitsubishi Mirage 1995-2003
That's interesting actually. I've got a model of a DBS next to my computer and I just held it up to the screen to see if it fit, and proportionally it's pretty close. However, one the topic of side skirts, the DBS has one, but it's not an exact match and still lacks any kind of shoulder line running along the doors. This is unlike the Vantage which is clearly the inspiration behind the detailing on this car. I guess it's a little bit of both? But is it more of an extended Vantage or a DB9 with Vantage parts? |
