The RS200 is one of the last cars produced by Ford of Britain, so should also have British origin.
The GT70 should be of British origin, since it was designed and built by the now defunct Ford of Britain.
IMCDb is as likely to be correct as IGCD is... According to wikipedia, the car was originally unveiled in the UK under the Ford name. It was built upon the Mondeo chassis to bring a Capri-like car back to the brand and as a larger alternative to the Puma. The Ford model also outlived the Mercury model by two years, continuing to be sold in Australia until 2004. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Cougar -- Last edit: 2014-04-17 22:34:03
Interesting. I'm hoping that some of the newer Monegasque models get to appear in new GT or Forza games.
Not false... the car originated as the European Ford model, which was then built and sold in the US under Mercury. We do the same thing with Vauxhall/Opel models, even though the Astra is assembled in the UK.
The origin for this and all other Venturi models is Monaco, not France.
This is actually a rebranded Ford Cougar from Europe. Should be origin Germany, made for USA.
That's probably because it's from GT4. In order to keep a large car list for GT5, Polyphony started importing cars from their PS2 games to make up the numbers. For GT6 they did make improvements to some of these models, but the majority still look horribly outdated. I try to keep them as AI only cars. -- Last edit: 2014-04-17 13:09:36
It does have the trunk and hood pins that can only be found on the Cup version.
If it's getting a single listing, then it should be listed as the Saab 9000, since that's the part where both the engine and driver sit (on the original car, it's also blue before the transformation, unlike the Alfa which starts red).
I think for the sake of accuracy, both cars should be listed like they are on IMCDb, BUT we rarely put dual pages on this site when a car borrows cues from two vehicles.
It's a dually in the game, but not in reality: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5c/Thrust2_rear_Coventry_Transport_Museum.jpg -- Last edit: 2014-04-13 14:55:31
I actually live in Coventry where the car is currently stored (alongside Thrust SSC). Next time I'm back in the city, I could visit the Transport Museum to see what the official description says.

carcrasher88 wrote Only the headlights and upper grille match. I still say it's the BRZ GT300 (which replaced the Legacy B4 GT300). Agreed - the body is practically a perfect match. -- Last edit: 2014-04-03 13:44:41

The overall shape seems to be from the larger Veneno, with some Sesto Elemento cues added on top of that base.

I remember reading somewhere that this car is only available to those who donated generously to the kickstarter.

I'm thinking it would be Made For Game like most of the other cars in this game, but if it had to be something, it would be the Lotus Esprit www.classicandperformancecar.com/front_website/octane_interact/modelpicture.php?id=2721

Technically, you're were almost right. AC has always been British, but the Cobra was given an engine by Shelby and marketed as the Shelby Cobra in the US.
I don't think I've ever seen this in game - does anybody know where to find it (and the unmarked Crown Vic)?
Peterbilt | ||
Don't worry about it. I thought I might've been a different unnamed admin who does genuinely hold a grudge against me... Back to the discussion, I agree that the model does have a more Continental shape to it, but the texture is clearly from the Crown Vic. I guess it's up to you guys to decide which one it deserves. -- Last edit: 2014-03-24 00:00:37
It's odd that this was changed to the Continental, so I've put it in visual format: The car at the top is a '92 Crown Vitoria, and the car at the bottom is a '92 Continental. As you can see, the texture has the same tail lights and door handles as the Crown Vic. Also the texture's angle between the rear pillars is not parallel like the Lincoln, but tapered like the Ford. -- Last edit: 2014-03-24 00:02:03
I disagree. If you look at the rear tail light texture, it has a distinctly curved shape, which matches with the Crown Vic but not the Continental, which has a very rectangular shape. Similarly, the angles in the side windows are a closer match to the Crown Vic. -- Last edit: 2014-03-23 21:44:33
Could this be the first licensed Lada in a racing game?
Yeah, that's exactly what I said...
Yet again, a model has been reused from the first game (although this time with the front clip from a Grumman-Olson Kurbmaster). Originally a Chevy Step Van www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=45312 -- Last edit: 2014-03-22 02:13:49
*bump* From the side profile, this is clearly a reskin of the Chevrolet Step Van seen earlier in the game - www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=45312
Same here. This car was in the previous game (Ford Crown Victoria) www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=62758
*bump* The rear image is not for this car so needs to be removed. Also, this is the same model as the Chevrolet Impala listed here - www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=45311
Well yeah, its exactly the same model that's been lifted from the previous game...
I think the overall theme is DeLorean (although its hard to tell with these graphics). Although the front does remind me of the Lagonda, it's also easy to see it as a very poor DeLorean front. Also, the in-game car is a coupe, which the Lagonda is not.

PikesPeak wrote Actually , there's Charger in Japan.... Not just that, but that car has almost the same license plate and colour as the one in the game.
At the end of the day, you should be looking at evidence, not just opinions. Like the Carbonizare, everything here is lifted from a single car (the Enzo), aside from a few details at one end (in this case, the rear). If the Carbonizare is a Zagato, then this is an Enzo. Similarly, if the Watson Revenge in Burnout Paradise is considered an Enzo, this is undoubtedly one as well.
If the Cheetah is considered Made For Game, then this should also be.
If you take the time to look at it properly, it is only the very back of the car that is not Enzo (spoiler, rear lights etc.), although even the rear splitter is taken directly from it.
It's more like 70% LaFerrari (roof shape, windows, rear, hood) and 30% McLaren (side vents, front & rear splitter)
