If we're being fair, the Cresta looks a lot like an American car, especially the '57 Nash. It's no more or less accurate than most generic vehicles.

Listed as a Dodge Ram in the previous SR installments, guess we'll better wait till the game releases or wait for newer gameplay preview videos to come out on the internet, hoping that the rear of the truck is mostly kept from the original version or likely being changed. We'll leave this as a Dodge Ram for temporarily until if we made a final decision more futher enough for these changes, then will changed to a Ford F-150.

Oh, I can get a shot of the rear of the truck from the same video source as this, if that would make identification easier. It looked to be fairly generic if I recall correctly.

I think you might be a troll, but...

The game is framed as a modern documentary, talking about the events of 1968 and Lincoln Clay. The documentary part is where they come back to Father James (a character in the 1968 part), much older, in 2016, where he talks about Lincoln and 1968. This and the other two cars only appear in the "documentary" parts of the game with Father James, which are set in 2016, not 1968. There are some historical problems with this games cars, but these are not it.

Having played the game, the explanation was the truck driver/local mechanic (Robert) was drunk and on the wrong side of the road and almost hit the car (a Fiesta) of a family (Sean, Diana, and a baby son Dylan) trying to leave town head on before swerving off the road. They leave the guy struggling to get out as they try to escape the quarantine, but can't leave anyway.

However, as a 240Z it would be an anachronism as the car was only introduced in 1969 and really on the roads by 1970. With the game developers taking care to avoid such anachronisms it would be odd they let this one slip in.

If both of you agree (as do I) that the Cobra is the closest of the several sports cars of the era that the Opus is based on, then we should list it as a Cobra.

The grill is much closer to a Polara. And it's a hell of a lot more slab sided than a Coronet so it makes to sense to list it as

It's not either of them. It's a 1967 Rambler (not AMC until 1968) Rebel SST: i1.wp.com/www.curbsideclassic.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Rambler-Rebel-03.jpg

This car's front is flatter, but nearly everything else is spot on. The greenhouse (on both coupe and convertible), the line below the beltline, the slight coke bottle shape, etc. The taillights/rear are very similar as well, just with the Rebel's horizontal slots made vertical (still two on either side though).

Considering they are on the car in its advertisements (in the playboy magazines), they aren't aftermarket accessories. This looks absolutely NOTHING like a 68' Polara. www.440magnum.com/mopars/2003/january/images/1970dodpolara500a.jpg

I'll agree, it is pretty big and is the size of a full size car rather than an intermediate. But it is much curvier than the Polara, which is is all flat planes and straight edges. It is a Coronet or a Rebel inflated by 20%, not a Polara.

Anyway, worth noting that, full size or not, this is a performance/muscle car in the context of the game - it has a 4 speed manual instead of the 3 speeds in most of the other cars, and it gets to 60 in under 7 seconds.

That would be your opinion.

The front is closer to the Cobra with the big fishmouth grille rather than vertical bars as with the Healey. The hood scoop is in the Cobra location; there's no side sweep as with the Healey; and there's massive "hips" behind the door as with the Cobra (the Healey is totally flat along the side). The rear and the taillights... look like neither. This also has a V8 engine sound and 3D model, not a 6 cylinder. And the damn thing has two seats without any space or mini-seats behind the front ones - again like the Cobra.

The non-separate bed is from a 61-63 F-100, the grille is a combination of a 1971 Dodge and a Jeep Gladiator (with the raised center of the grill and hood), the sides (beltline, wheel arches, lower molding) are 67+ F-150, but the taillights and greenhouse are from a 66-ish Dodge. The interior is 67+ F-150. Kind of a real clusterfuck of a mix between Dodge and Ford.

Anyway, this is a short bed 4WD model (well actually AWD since there's no toggle...) that has pretty realistic performance for a 390 F150 or 383 Dodge, with about 11 seconds 0-60 and topping out at 90 mph in 3rd gear.

Well, my vote is for the Gran Fury... but as far as a car from 1968ish that this could be, IDK. The rear looks kind of like a 69 Dodge Coronet (classiccarsmark.com/images/full/1969-dodge-coronet-440-seden-4-door-6.jpg) but the front doesn't and the coronet's not as square as this (but then again neither is the Caprice). The Plymouth Sattelite/Dodge Coronet was the most popular American police car in the late 60s.

Or what about a 71' AMC Matador (www.chase-cars.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/i017338.jpg) also a very common police car?

IDK, the Gran Fury still seems closest: iams.pbworks.com/f/NYPDMCS_04.jpg, and it was used more extensively than the Caprice for police duty as well.
