Gentlemen, it has been a pleasure to present to us the first WS 57X at the website. Combining the best of both worlds, with Western Star's X-series lineup and a proven track record for Daimler's Freightliner Cascadia trucks for millions of miles.

It's new for 2022 and you should be able to pick up one of the most elegant, most beautifully-designed 57X at the nearest virtual Western Star dealer as of right now.

Currently this pic is a placeholder, as mentioned on the main page.

Montana DLC is landing in 2 days' time.

I'm lovin' this type of SUV. We need luxury cars for AI cars, and not just this format. We need:
-Tuners (read: Supra, MR2, 370Z, 350Z, Integra)
-Basic commuter cars from the 1990s (think of Detroit products like GM and Chrysler)
-Exotic cars, which are rare (Bring the Huracan from ETS2 and a GT-R and maybe a Ferrari)
-More sports cars, like the Scion FR-S/Toyota 86 model
-Older commuter cars from the 70s-80s.

You should consult SCS on a AI Vehicle wishlist, and they might work on a reference for these cars. Usually local dealership sites would work for sourcing them.

But in schematical terms, it does not make much sense to have it in ETS2 as I don't think it's sold there, at least in this current gen model. Also, Europe has gone sour over massive SUVs like these due to stricter emission regulations.
EDIT: It ended up in 1.45, and sadly it's in ETS2. Cristo.

I wouldn't say it's improper, as the community and the developers do like to request new stuff every now and then. I mean your comment didn't really make any sense in a superlative state. This is nothing at all like ETS2's regional vehicles; hell, none of the vehicles in ATS are regional-specific. None. Zero. Maybe for farm vehicles, but none for regular cars.

Also, you gotta wait a while for the Alabama DLC to materialize. They've got to do the Louisiana and Mississippi DLCs first - that is if they can get the Central U.S. done. And that can take half a decade at best, especially since they're also redoing older maps. You do the math.

I wasn't expecting a current generation GLS-Class appeared in one of SCS games after reading the El Paso blog post. Since it's been a long time I'm here, just checked that Spot Racers has one in-game, based on its entry here.

To be honest, I found SCS went too early to put the GLS in ATS, it would be better to put it in ETS 2 first, the reasons why? Built plants, why.

Considering ATS is currently sets in the U.S. "for now" and knowing the current GLS-Class is manufactured in the U.S., with Thailand and Indonesia being the backups, its appearance in the upcoming Texas DLC update looks an improper surprise, as these were built in Alabama. SCS should've put AI cars based on one of the GM T1XX siblings and one of the U.S. designed Toyota TNGA-F trucks (Tundra and/or Sequoia), as those such vehicles are built in Texas, fitting the DLC hype. Considering we've already seen the GMT900 versions of the Cadillac Escalade and GMC Sierra, I thought of an idea where SCS put like, a newer third gen Tundra and the previous second gen Tundra together as an evolution surprise, the earlier can be seen in both AI and cargo models, same happens if I'd imagine the Tahoe, but the GMT900, K2XX and T1XX guises appeared in the game together, with the T1XX models being serving both AI and cargo.

I'd remember on submitting a research tip post to SCS about the GM and Toyota's factories in Texas at their official forums, including current models that were produced in those factories. Probably, the GLS' appearance here is something has to do when the time is for Alabama DLC.

A new AI vehicle just popped up on the El Paso screenshots. It's a current-gen Mercedes-Benz GLS.

Additionally I sent out replacement pics of the existing cars (Audi, Volvo SUV and a Land-Rover just to name a few) but they're not being accepted at all. The current pics of them are day one pics whilst all of my pics are from the recent versions. 1.43 to be exact.

Well, one of them based on this design did make it... but in the form of a storm drainage truck... in update 1.45. Wrecker's still nowhere to be found.

Yep. Only shows up in the base game's maps like the limo, garbage truck and streetsweeper. I wish they provided it for other regions, since taxis have been used in urban areas.

Knowing SCS, they could consider regional taxi models, like how they did for the police cars. They could also have used other cars like the Prius, etc. and use them in major cities.

I wish ETS 2 would feature taxi cars though. But I doubt that.

So, now the pics have been provided, I'll give you the rundown about this truck: You'll need the Cabin Accessories pack as well for navigation because this truck is from the early 2000s, and infotainment systems were hardly a thing for that era.

I like this model they made. I hope SCS sees additional old trucks, but given their rarity today, it's doubtful, but if possible they could add as some are still on American roads:

-Peterbilt 387
-Mack Vision
-Peterbilt 379
-Older Freightliner Cascadia (not the one from 2018 or the newer facelift)
-Freightliner Century
-Freightliner Columbia
-Freightliner Coronado
-Freightliner Classic
-Kenworth T-2000

Again they're quite a stretch because finding most of them are difficult because of daily usage and being scrapped. I left out cabovers because they have basically been phased out in the U.S. since 2007 afaik. But never say never.

As of 1.48 these now spawn in the AI vehicle rotation.

I don't want to stick where I shouldn't, but some current Buick models are still vehicles that have been based on Opel cars: the current Buick Regal was based on the Opel Insignia; the Buick Encore, in the Opel Mokka; and the one you supposedly say, the Buick Verano, was based on the Opel Astra Sedan.

The Verano is based on the Chevrolet Cruze, but they also used references to the Astra, which would otherwise be Opel-based.

Yes it may be built in the U.S. but Buick back then used Opel model architecture. It's nothing like that anymore since GM sold Opel to Groupe PSA (which was also merged to form Stellantis).

Why not ask SCS to add a minivan to this game? There are many choices:

-Dodge Grand Caravan
-Chrysler Pacifica (not the older crossover SUV)
-Toyota Sienna (I hear their recent model is edgy and cool-looking)

It would also not hurt to add older vans, considering they added a Chevy Van in the Wyoming expansion. The GM 'Dustbuster' vans is a good start, considering their rarity today.

This S-Max they put in is inexcusable. They don't sell it here, and this is one of the two vehicles they have in ATS that don't actually sell in America.

Most likely so. Unfortunately there isn't a civilian version of this and it only appears in Utah, so sadly I haven't seen one.

Frankly regular commuter cars like this give ATS some variety in the traffic. But it's a slow process.

It also wouldn't hurt to bring over certain ETS 2 cars over to ATS, as they are also sold in America. For example the Jeep Renegade and the Lamborghini Huracan would be good additions, as would the Mazdas they got.

Wow I did not know that, it is pretty cool they add in new AI cars with such attention to detail. It is possible that now that the new trucks for both ETS2 and ATS have been finished and released the vehicle modelling team might focus a bit on the AI cars for both games. While ETS2 has way more AI models, it needs some newer cars at this point in my opinion. For ATS, I think they lack some cars like the Corolla or the Camry which are very common in there and adding them in would make the game even more immersive. Of course AI mod packs relegate this issue to a large extent but I think it would still be cool to have more vanilla models too.

While I can agree with this, the problem is that there are way too many vehicles in this game that are very rare to be found in the USA. For example, there's too much classic cars driving around and the chance of finding them on the real US roads is about 10%. Many ETS2 models have horrible detail, yes, but at least they have cars that are quite specific in Europe. SCS should make it so that classic AI vehicles have a chance of showing up by 25%, and there should be way more vehicles, in fact, a hundred more vehicles that are common in the USA added into ATS. Why no Camry, why no Model 3? Get what I am saying? So yeah.
