Tuppence870 photo_librarymode_comment 2016-01-11 00:37 | I actually think GTA V is a really good game and is probably the game I've played most since its release. I don't have a lot of criticisms towards it and I can't say that I relate to some of the problems you guys have with it. Sure some of the kids in online are incredibly annoying (invite only ftw), the prices for new content are becoming increasingly extortionate and old-gen support has been ended, but the game itself is very good. Single player is excellent, and if it had Online's insurance/car storage system I'd probably stay offline permanently. Also, the story missions can feel very scripted and linear, but they're still very enjoyable. Unfortunately some features of SP are removed for Online, such as animals and more advanced damage modelling, which makes it less enjoyable to explore. V's cars do however feel very slow at top speed, because they are - the fastest car in the game is only capable of 126mph. GTA IV on the other hand was my first GTA game and I honestly hated it. The only things I can commend are the car selection, which is uniquely gritty with 80's and 90's cars (something that V lacks) and the soundtrack which features the best radio station I've heard in a video game - Liberty Rock Radio. But otherwise the game was awful. The open-world is city-locked and not particularly interesting. The story is either too boring or too depressing, possibly both. The shooting mechanics are also very clunky and annoying to use. But by far the worst thing in GTA IV is the driving mechanics. Most people praise it as "realistic" or "challenging", but the cars simply do not handle at all. If you think real cars work like these, you should probably see a mechanic because your wheels are missing and your suspension is made of cheese. Turning is a joke in that game - I've yet to find a single car that could take any corner at more than maybe 5mph without some horrific accident. The body roll is so ridiculous and exaggerated that you might as well drive with the car on its side the entire time you're in Liberty City. And god forbid that you try to drive over 70mph anywhere, because just touching the wheel will send you into an uncontrollable spin, even in the so-called "sports" cars. I remember one time I was playing one of IV's excuses for a race and the AI did such a poor job navigating the track that an opponent crashed so many times it exploded. Then it has the balls to blame me for killing a competitor and Nico was banned from street races for a while, although I didn't exactly want to play any longer after that shocking display. -- Last edit: 2016-01-11 00:56:00 |

2016-01-11 00:06 | Personally, I think the new NFS, The Crew, and Watch_Dogs are all actually good games. Sure, they're not as good as many people expected, but to be honest, most gamers have standards that are WAY too high in the first place. |

God are all games just shit or something? Wait... What did Ubisoft make? GAMEloft made Ass-phalt. They made and released Watch_Dogs for example (just take look at this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnwVvAviNVk ). This game was intended to be a "next-gen GTA killer"... |

Hakari photo_librarymode_comment 2016-01-10 23:35 | Burn Rubber a écrit Well that last part is called Ricing and its not just for kids... Really everyone should stop feeding Shitstar the money they don't deserve. I just wish hackers would delete the whole game and leave no traces so it dies and never comes back. But I don't think that's physically possible. Shitstar made the mistake of ending Midnight Club on a sour note (MCLA was not good) while before that they had MC3. A excellent game. And MC2. Which was just a fun, easy to play game. But nooooo. They then made MCLA. With a DLC that cost 15 bucks and THEN two car packs at $3 each, then released it all on a game that cost the same price as the vase game after everyone wasted their freakin money. Now all that's left of Shitstar is their money whore GTA V. A game that just basicly says "Give me your money!". Half-million dollar cars, stupid shark cards, uncreative cars, etc. The only people that makes genuine FUN of this game is little kids with parents that don't give a F about their 7 year old seeing prostitutes and killing people. And 2MGoverCsquared (YouTuber/Streamer who just has fun even though she only has $8 ingame). God they really just screwed themselves. This is why I f-ing hate Shitstar. Damn. Why so much hate? GTA V is great game anyway. Money isn't a very big issue after heists update. I've made nearly 1kk in maybe a week doing simple missions and heists with random people without any pressure or rush. The reason why Rockstar made those shark cards is that they are releasing every DLC completely for free and just like every other company, they want to make some money on their product. I've never bought any shark cards personally, only basic version of GTA V for PC and that's all. At least Rockstar don't release a half completed games like EA or Ubisoft. |
JFK photo_librarymode_comment 2016-01-10 22:50 | krq9 a écrit There should be WAY more cars from the 90s and 80s. Yeah, amount of 80s/90s cars is really underwhelming. You usually see 400k Pigalle driving around GTA V ghetos. |

krq9 photo_librarymode_comment 2016-01-10 22:46 | Since this here seems to be the place for criticism towards the vehicle range in GTA V, I'll chip in my $0.02 There should be WAY more cars from the 90s and 80s. Modern era (2000+) cars are well represented, same applies for cars from 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Why are there so few 1980s and 1990s cars then? JFK photo_librarymode_comment 2016-01-10 22:45 | Hakari a écrit In my opinion GTA IV was just boring. I was really disappointed that Rockstar threw out many great features from GTA: SA like car modifications, expanded statistics like driving skill or amount of fat, ability to dive in the ocean, go to a barber, eat in Burger Shot outside meeting with friend, buy a shitload of houses in every city or freely dress your character browsing in thousand of clothes. Also they included only a few weapons, big but ugly city and no countryside at all. It was a step up from 3D era, it was just like GTA 3 from 2D, that did not include car customisiation and gang wars. They cutted out features because the better (it was grayish symphony of gray, but still) graphic. I am with you on that annoying calls and boring missions. And no garages. I went nuts after I found out that some dork pushed my precious and rare Romero out of parking spot, that lead to despawn a few autosaves ago. |
Hakari photo_librarymode_comment 2016-01-10 22:29 | JFK a écrit If the GTA IV wasnt filled with ton of graphical glitches and patches that dont patch anything, it could be easily better game than GTA V. I dont like how in online you can crash head on in rusty cadillac to runway when dropped down from chopper and nothing happens (I did that personally), but in singleplayer I am wasted because I t-bone car in 80km/h and Michael go trough windshield. I personally liked the boat handling, backfiring and damage model in GTA IV. In my opinion GTA IV was just boring. Also they included only a few weapons, big but ugly city and no countryside at all. Driving in this concrete jungle wasn't as fan as driving on the desert in San Andreas state. Also storyline and missions were really boring. In 80% of the missions you had to kill someone and nothing more. And remember about "Let's go bowling" at least two times a day from various wannabe "friends". GTA IV was great from a graphics and physics standpoint back in 2007 and introduced some really cool features but I still think it was one of the worst GTA ever made. The newest one is way much better but they simplified the gameplay to the edges of stupidity. Driving like in Need for Speed, special abilities that recharges after a few seconds to make everything even easier, no eating at all, screwed damage system so you can barely dent a bumper in a head-on collision and still very low weapon recoil so every console player can empty whole magazine in the chest using auto-aim... What the hell you did Rockstar? Racedriver43 a écrit I definitely agree. The gameplay they tried to make badass turned into a fucking CGI Hollywood Movie without shoots, and actors. The little kids should not have a say in GTAs damage model, because they'd make cars basically a brick of solid granite. I started on a movie, and I wanted a really big crash with my Blista Compact in the intro, but all I got was a brick chipping up, and rolling around. The crash would've been way more spactactular, and would've looked more like an actual wreck instead of looking like a deformed brick if kids didn't take over. I fucking hate the little kids who think they're entitled to flying down the road in some ugly ass overrated supercar, and crashing into walls without concequence. I love driving my Stratum everywhere rather than the Progen T20. I liked when drving wagons, and other big cars was useful. Rockstar just wants the little kids to fish in money, just cause they invaded a large section of the GTA fanbase. Give us back what we want, Rockstar. Please. Absolutely true. You can see those kids in multiplayer usually driving their supercars fitted with neon lights, custom rims, music horns, tinted windows and every other shit you can install and they can't really drive those cars so you can see them crashing in every tree that is closer than 100 meters to the road... Really pathetic. I'm still faster than those morons in my barely modified Glendale. -- Last edit: 2016-01-10 22:43:06 |

I personally liked the boat handling, backfiring and damage model in GTA IV. EDIT: and for cars I would like to have in game - it can be something not regularly seen on LA streets, but it must be something unique. Chevrolet Covair "Declasse Con Air" - rear engined car with flat 6 engine. Amphicar 770 "BF U-boat" - just imagine sailing to the sunset in classical cabriolet with working white roof. Reliant Regal/Robin/Rialto "Weeny Beagle 3"- why everyone is trying to do hard turn with this thing in BeamNG? because it is fun! Any Rinspeed vehicle "Coil" - car that can be shortened, can swim under water or other silly stuff deserve 2,2 million price tag, not T20 that is hardly better than Voltic for 150k. Ferat Vampire RSR "Chariot Dracula SRS" - just imagine turbo boost paid by your health. and it have mono door that opens upwards! 100ft American Dream "Albany Elitas" - yeah, you could possibly only go straight on 8 lane-wide boulevards, but who cares. It is american dream after all. Brutus "Übermacht Luft"- that thing have 46 liter engine from WW1 plane, and it can burn rubber at 140km/h (cca 85mph). Do you need more explanation? AVE Mizar "Vapid Andromada" Ford Pinto attached to Cessna wings. You can attach or deattach wings whenever you like it, just like trailers. Even midair. -- Last edit: 2016-01-10 22:38:58 |

2016-01-10 21:36 | That right there is why GTA SA will always be the best! Relatively realistic and yet very fun at the same time! |
Hakari photo_librarymode_comment 2016-01-10 21:00 | Burn Rubber a écrit I get that it's like, supposed to be California and LA, But not everyone in LA owns a Pagani Hyuayra or Lamborghini Sesto Elementos! They own cars like in GTA IV. They aren't special cause they live in LA! That's because GTA IV was intended to be more realistic than previous GTA games. There is no minigun or flame thrower in GTA IV, there is no military during 6 stars chase, no tanks on the streets or missions like "steal a jetpack from military base". Rockstar realized that players wants more badass gameplay in the future so in GTA V we have gameplay similar to GTA San Andreas. GTA V was also designed for casual console players. That's why driving model is no more challenging or realistic like it was in IV, and vehicles are really hard to damage. You can even flip your car back on the wheels or tilt it mid air to land perfectly on the ground. It sucks in my opinion. I really enjoyed driving in GTA IV where slamming on the brakes resulted in locked front wheels and no ability to steer because majority of the cars didn't had ABS. Looks like newest GTA was released for kids who can't play without driving Pagani or Ferrari. -- Last edit: 2016-01-10 21:00:52 |

2015-12-15 22:08 | ZoomZoom a écrit It was in a previous scene undamaged but it was kind of blurry. In my opinion there is no excuse for not having a car from IV into V. The HD interiors are all rendered from IV cars and the damage/plate mapping is simple. Any car ported from IV would be better than the abominations R* churns out for DLC here. Did you see the proportions on the Nightshade and Mamba? Agreed. Some of V's cars look very cartoony. Whoever designed IV's cars did a good job since they actually look pretty realistic. |
