2015-06-02 20:50 | J-2 wrote Series II is part of something? Also, nice car of course Yep, it basically identifies the second version of the L10 Cosmos. - More powerful 0813 engine (up 18 hp over the original 110 hp L10A, which was the reason for the 110 in the name, even though it probably should've been the Cosmo Sport 128S, to be honest) - Power assisted brakes - 5-speed manual transmission (as opposed to the 4-speed in the L10A) - 15 inch (38.1 cm) longer wheelbase - Top speed of 120 mph (the L10A's top speed was 115) - 1/4 mile in 15.8 seconds (down from the L10A's 16.4 time) - And, of course, the larger grille and the two vents below the bumper Also, the Series II was the highest production version of the original Cosmo, with 1,176 built, whereas only 343 of the Series I Cosmos were built (not counting the original 2 prototypes, the one shown at the Tokyo Motor Show in '64, and the 80 preproduction test cars. Also, the 110S in the name indicates an export model, not a Japanese market one. In Japan, these were simply known as the Cosmo Sport, not the Cosmo Sport 110S, as in export markets. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_Cosmo#Series_L10A.2FL10B_.281967.E2.80.931972.29 |
