But then point is it's not a remaster/re-HD if the vehicles and even map changes...

That point was just to explain why Saints Row have separated pages for the remaster and original game.

From my understanding, aren't the vehicle models pretty much the same between both versions of the game? There are a small number of exclusive cars in each version, but the majority are identical. For other games where different versions were given separate pages (eg Alan Wake, Saints Row 3), it was because the vehicles were remodelled and looked different, while if this game was split, you'd have two nearly identical pages.

I know that there's significant differences between the two versions in other areas (map, engine), but seeing as this is a car database, that's the only aspect we're really interested in.

tbh this rule is applied unevenly. We've had separate game entries for games with much less differences (HD remasters) and same the page with entries that are completely overhauled and gens apart.

HD remasters are valid when the old vehicle design was changed and or the method of unlock are different. If the unlock method from the same vehicles are different, or the game feature a different map with different cars and different layouts from the original, are valid to separate.

Why? If its the same game, with same engine and assets, that is not necessary.

It's precisely because they're basicilly two different games. Horizon 2 on the 360 is mostly just Horizon 1 with a different map, it's missing most cars from Horizon 2 and If I'm not wrong the only actual addition is the Huracan.
EDIT: It has other additions such as the LaFerrari and the C7 Corvette, but it has no DLC cars for example, and on launch it had cars which weren't in the Xbox One version like the XJ220.

If the only difference is 3 cars, that does not warrant it's own entry. Those 3 cars should be added to this entry with the caveat that they are exclusive to the 360 version.

I can still drive the DLC cars.

Yeah, the servers sorta come on I guess. Same happen for FH1.
Edit: nvm, FH1 servers have truly gone down
