It's used to escape the house in one of the endings, and you can see it before shit starts popping off.

Also, police sedans are mostly full-size. So basically, this whole thing here are everything Nissan-ish, just only the front portion came from an Impala, the interior could be something else than a Nissan.

Second, i concur with Rush, look at the dA render art (no, NOT the concept one, once again...) as seen in full view or the off-camera video generalrusty78 posted, it's clearly a Maxima, if you see the rear AND SIDE portion of that car, you'll change your mind it's a Maxima, since only the front portion has got to be an Impala, but yet, the RE7 police car itself has NO C-pillar Maxima Impala
