NismoR35 photo_librarymode_comment 2016-05-29 01:45 | As far as I know, it kinda depended on the private importer, mostly it was US-spec LHD models imported in since it was easier, while some European ones, especially the RHD ones, presumably bought in UK and shipped to Vladivostok to be imported into Hokkaido, so all in all, it was a mixture, but majority with any American car in that matter, it was LHD. -- Last edit: 2016-05-29 01:46:44
Burn Rubber photo_librarymode_comment 2016-05-29 01:29 | Huh. I learn a lot of things about the automotive industry on here.
Desscythe17 photo_librarymode_comment 2016-05-29 01:22 | NismoR35 wrote Also the older gen Explorers such as in this game, and in that link Desscythe linked, was also made in RHD in the respective markets. Yes those Explorers were also sold in Europe, and in the UK they were RHD (evident by your second pic). The ones for the Japanese market (sold through dealership, not private import), seem to be LHD, but they might have used US or EU press pictures to save costs. -- Last edit: 2016-05-29 01:24:53
NismoR35 photo_librarymode_comment 2016-05-29 01:17 | It's not too uncommon to find an American car imported into Japan, plus LHD cars are often as viewed as more "luxurious" over there compared to regular RHD cars. Plus the last generation of the Explorer before it turned into whatever it is now, was actually sold in Japan as LHD. And it also came with a funky fender mirror all SUVs/Pickups had to have. Also the older gen Explorers such as in this game, and in that link Desscythe linked, was also made in RHD in the respective markets. -- Last edit: 2016-05-29 01:18:42
Desscythe17 photo_librarymode_comment 2016-05-29 00:43 | I've looked all around for this car, and it doesn't seem to be anything really. It's too long for a hatchback, so it would be station wagon. And although it features elements from existing cars (headlights Toyota Tercel/Corolla II, lower front bumper from Nissan Pulsar/Lucino), none are really more prevalent than the others. So MFG I would say.
