I mean, it indeed has demo derby game modes, demo derby arenas, and some banger racing-like tracks; but it also has various more open tracks through city centers or mountains which don't fit in with the "banger racing" idea at all. Those tracks are more like something you'd find in a crash-based racing game like Burnout or Asphalt; and those games also have plenty of expensive high-end cars.
