I must say, I have been looking forward to adding Burnout to IGCD, namely because it is one of my favourite series up there with GTA and Driver. Originally set to be daftly named Shiny Red Car, the first installment was released in 2001 gaining favourable reviews which led up to its breakthrough in popularity come Burnout 3. Burnout is radically different to the more recent versions however - for me I can really imagine playing it in an arcade cabinet, as it retains the essence of an arcade game perfectly, which is perhaps less apparent for later versions of the game. Burnout pits you in a racing situation with a twist - not only are you against the clock but you are also against the traffic. The highlight of the game was of course the crashes, whereby colliding into traffic was a marked event, and an immediate loss of playability as the crashes are replayed. Compared to all of Burnouts, the crashes really are quite tame now, lacking the exaggerations and effects, but are more realistic as a result. The licensed music from Burnout 3 onwards is also absent, but I find this a blessing rather than a curse, as the games music here was much more atmospheric and tense.

if you watch this video... you will see a Mercedes Benz that never appear in last ver.... and could someone add that car?

lcpdcv US (52)

2012-11-16 00:44

Yeah, add a car from the beta version..what a moron! Thank god he's banned.
5 vehicles missing-the European bus/taxi and the NPC GM TDH 5303 bus, along with a Scania boxtruck & a Scania truck cab.
Don't think i'll be able to add them, PCSX2 is being a bitch as usual.

Added the traffic pickup again(marked it Unknown since I don't think it's a Tacoma), since the pic SWF used is a zoomed in shot of a dev screen. That one can be deleted.

PikesPeak TH (14)

2013-02-16 07:40

EDIT : and there's a removed camera position at 1:14 ... it's very sad that remove that camera position ... i can see everything while i driving big vehicles ...

Yep, exactly.
In the final, the only vehicles that have that camera view are the Bus and Tow Truck sadly.
Here's some more beta stuff.

Transit had different wheel texture.
Beta Muscle, and beta Saloon in the BG(also EU bus with a different paintjob):

Beta Punto, Caprice taxi, beta sedan( I personally don't think it's an Astra) and rear of beta Muscle(notice the Florida license plate?)

2013-02-16 07:55

wow ... a beta Muscle and Saloon looks like a real life cars.... btw , did they reused this beta Muscle to Sport from Burnout 2? with some minor changes?

and also... they're more detailed than i thought and notice the blue sedan in the last picture? it's lost it's grill or less detailed

Yep, noticed the sedan. Edited the post.
Yeah, all the beta player cars were more high-poly.

Beta version of River City or deleted track?

to me , it's seem a deleted track...

look at this , the rear view camera is different... you can see the car but in the final version ... camera was at bumper

Nope, that's River City alright.
Also, notice the license plates on both NPC and player cars? They're gone in the final.

the beta of the Interstate looks more detailed and more American

lcpdcv US (52)

2013-02-16 08:16

Saw that screen before.....the textures and skybox are INSANE.
Damn shame they took out the third-person rear view and made it first-person only.

looks like you can go left or right or middle o_o damn...

With the use of Cheat Engine....I accomplished this:

Found out the player cars were supposed to have names:

VenomSX=Sports Coupe
Thunderbolt GT=Roadster
Tenrai=Saloon GT
The last 2 are the Bus and Tow Truck...also, note the "Fire Engine(cut off text)", cut vehicle.
I also found out there was supposed to be a motorcycle and scooter, and tracks in Thailand.

btw, any impossible bring that Fire Engine playable?

And ... din't i mention that ... damage physic is more better?

Collecting some HD pictures with my trusty pal, Dolphin. First off, I'll be covering the Muscle...

Right after I do some enhancement and anti-aliasing to ensure they're top-quality. :D

If your PC is "a potato" (Sorry I love that joke) then mine must be a brick. Because Burnout on the Dolphin was absolute crap as far as speed.

Well I understand why RD34 has horrible angles. The replay has no pause option and is terrible as far as showing the car. My only real hope is trying to get the shots in the real race.

I'd prefer to just do both games. At least then it will save any possible back-tracking and wasted time. :/

Shots may take a while. PCSX2 just decided to totally die and run at 10% and under no matter what. I have to re-install it.

Wow nevermind. I forgot to change back my settings from taking screenshots. I up all the setting when doing them and it causes serious lag. >_<

Delete these cars' rear shots please. I know it can be done. It was done on Cars: Fast as Lightening, And on OutRun 2006.

I have new ones coming.

Quite interesting how Cop cars were cut from the game... I wonder if maybe they were going to be playable? Or just another 4-wheeled brick to annoy you, and be in your way?
