![]() Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) | I'm going to be cleaning up this page and one aspect of that is the removal of all 'third-party' marketplace mods. After experiencing the game for myself alot of these mods have no licensing for the vehicles, no sort of screening process and from what I understand it's common for them to be stolen from other works. As such the only marketplace aircraft that will remain are the ones that had Microsoft or Asobo Studios involvement (the game actually denotes these under the creator tab). All others will be removed. -- Last edit: 2024-11-16 13:47:29

![]() Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) | Antti-san wrote I'm curious, where does the line go? For example, train simulators have plenty of paid addons (standalone trains or complete routes with new trains) made by 3rd party devs that can be just as good or better than the addons made by the original devs. Addons that the devs have allowed to be sold on Steam alongside "official" DLC content. Content such as this is also treated as mods? Just making sure. I don't know about every train simulator, but for the Train Sim World games, while there are some addons that are not made by the original developer, I would definitely consider them "outsourced DLC" rather than "paid mods", as they are sold as official DLC on the Xbox/Steam store and must have had some input from the original dev to integrate them into the game (e.g achievements). MSFS is different, in that none of its addons, first or third party, are sold as DLC through the Xbox/Steam storefront (with the exception of the Special/Deluxe editions), they are only sold through the in-game marketplace, which Microsoft refers to as "approved 3rd parties selling directly to simmers". -- Last edit: 2024-04-16 08:47:35
![]() Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) | There's no discussion to be had, we don't allow "community made mods" paid or otherwise. Even if the devs approve them or they appear in a storefront they are not allowed. Any entry on this page that is such is listed by mistake (or by intention by the uploader) and should be marked for deletion.
![]() Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) | It has more to do with the scope and capacity of IGCD. We have expanded to vehicles in part because we cataloged a lot of drivable cars then not drivable, then cut cars, then other land vehicles, and then we reached a point where we still could do more and added water and air vehicles. Mods are not out of the picture (pun intended) eventually, but the point is to not lose focus and coherence when you expand the scope. Just look at games that grow chaotic lol. It just comes down to "officiality". If it's addons you get from moddb, nexus or some community forums then it's not the same as DLC that is official put on the Steam store page or in-game Marketplace. Exception goes for "sandbox" creation games like Minecraft, Roblox, etc that are just a game engine that one can just modify and make their own game within a game. the more you dig the more you'll have to differentiate between two similar shades of grey. I guess to avoid useless work later down the line we can just keep these entries, but we need an icon or something to clearly identify dev endorsed community addons and independent mods.
![]() Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) | Solarriors wrote A lot of these entries are not official DLC made by Asobo, but community made add-ons sold on the in-game marketplace. Even if they are officiated by the store, they're still mods in the sense they're not made by the developpers. I'm curious, where does the line go? ![]() Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) | speedfreak975 wrote AstonMartin1, I will do my best to explain the situation revolving around this page for you in the clearest way possible. A significant portion of your entries were removed after admins found out that they are paid community mods, something against IGCD rules. (This includes officiated 3rd party mods sold by the developers) Furthermore, this created a level of suspect around most entries supplied by you so it was a safer route to simply reject them. If you decide to add official dlc again in similar manner from the store, please make sure its by the developers and understand that they will be considered and treated as placeholders. That means one day if a contributor decided to take images ingame, your images will be replaced without contest. If you are okay with that then feel free to try again. You could atleast take in-game shots for base entries. Those will count as finalised entries. ![]() Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) | AstonMartin1 wrote I do not have access to mods on the Xbox version of this game only approved purchasable items on the in game store. I would take in game pictures of the vehicles if I could but that would require me purchasing every vehicle in the game and my weekly wages don't stretch that far. Old mate that bragged about owning 70% of the plane list either has an illegally obtained copy or has spent thousands on flight simulator. Vehicles in game cost between $15 to $120 each. So if you want to fund this feel free, otherwise storefronts are all your going to receive. (350 vehicles x $65 average cost) = $22,750 for 100% vehicles. 70% = $15,925. I took all the images myself and none of them are mods because there is no mods section to the Xbox version. But please feel free to purchase a copy of the game and prove me wrong. In that case I respectfully ask that you cease submitting entries to this page. Any future submissions by you on this page will be rejected outright. Instead let someone else who is more capable of contributing entries do this page instead. -- Last edit: 2024-03-20 15:29:27
![]() Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) | AstonMartin1 wrote What the hell is going on, all the land and sea vehicles I've uploaded have been removed, I'm uploading my own photos, I'm using Microsoft flight simulator on Xbox Series X, and I'm photographing what's available on the Microsoft approved Xbox store front? Also I've uploaded more aircraft than this, it took hours making sure the information I'm imputing is correct what's going on... No one else is submiting information to this page... Here's a novel thought, instead of posting thumbnails from the store, you take actual pictures of these vehicles in the game. Also we don't allow mod vehicles and that covers paid mods, regardless if microsoft allows them or not. -- Last edit: 2024-03-20 09:09:26

![]() Revolution Mini-500 Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) | This one seems to use a wrong company logo on the make list. This is the one for Revolution Helicopter: duckduckgo.com/i/4ebf1435.png Is it because the site can't differentiate between the Japanese Revolution and the American one? ![]() Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) | Attacker1997 wrote Bond007stig, are these planes you are adding official content or are they community-made mods? Microsoft Flight Sim is designed as a storefront for other studio designed planes, airports, etc. I'm using flight simulator on Xbox series X, so when I use the marketplace I only see microsoft approved studios selling aircraft, airports, etc. for the sim. The original game is broken down into three separate limited content packs: The Standard pack has 20 Aircraft, Deluxe has 25, Premium has 30. All sold at different price points, then every other plane is available through the microsoft approved storefront. There has only been an additional 10 free planes since launch through DLC. Microsoft doesn't approve many free planes for its Xbox store front mainly all pay to play options some can get close to $60 Aud per plane. "Bond007Stig" was my old account this is my new one. -- Last edit: 2022-12-07 15:44:21
