Austin Metro DiRT: Showdown (2012) | Well nobody likes to be discredited on public, especially for something that happened so long ago. As I said, because the rear window has been shortened it can be confused with a Golf, but the door shape, roof... It's 100% Metro. The Golf was much more edgy in the design, while the Onyx isn't, like the Metro. The Golf has a pillar on the front side windows, the Onyx doesn't, like the Metro. The Onyx resembles to British junior banger racers, in which the Metro is popular. Also the Onyx has the side trim and scallop of the Metro. If you just look at the C-Pillar you may doubt, but play with the views on the loading screen and you'll see the profile, door shape, door handle, is from a Metro. -- Last edit: 2012-08-04 18:51:58
Austin Metro DiRT: Showdown (2012) | I haven't been active in IMCDB/IGDC for four years or more, do you need to come up with something that happened four years ago to make your point? Also I don't think it's necessary to get rude. Honestly, play the game and you'll see it's a Metro. Calm down a little bit, this is just a forum.
Austin Metro DiRT: Showdown (2012) | I've bought the game and I'm 100% sure that this is an Austin Metro. The car is identical, except for the C-Pillar which is thicker on the Onyx which makes it reminiscent of a Yugo or Golf Mk1. The roof, the doors, the front quarterpanels, even the doorhandle is identical. The Runner is also very similar to the strenghtened Metros used at junior/rookie banger racing in the UK, and it makes sense because the developers (Codemasters) are British. The pictures might be a bit misleading, but play the game and you'll see this is 100% Metro. In fact I'd dare to say that since Showdown is made out of DIRT 3 leftovers, the Runner could be based on the 6R4, but this is just a suposition. -- Last edit: 2012-08-04 16:30:32
