02jeepgc wrote I think it's a 2007-2013 GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab for a few reasons: 1.) The GMC Sierra 1500/Yukon Denali wheels. 2.) The large front grille. 3.) The headlights and tail lights. Agreed. And don’t forget those squared off wheel wells, something Ford full-size pickups haven’t had since the early 80s.
Wanna get thrown for even more of a loop? When I got into this thing I practically did a spit-take because when I looked at the dashboard, I saw parts that were unmistakably from the dashboard of my real life car, a Chevy blazer. Primarily the vents and 4WD buttons from a late-model S-10 dashboard. Oh, and the logo on the grille is from an ingame German manufacturer, Zugspitz. Just to muddy the waters further.
Yeah, this looks like a C1500 Cheyenne or Scottsdale, judging from the matte work truck grille.
Nada, if we labeled everything that is in the slightest bit generic as 'Made For Game' the entire database would be filled with MFG and not enough specification to be useful. This, like the Vespid 5.2 in Watch Dogs, is a Camaro body with Chally headlights and taillights. -- Last edit: 2015-12-23 12:43:14
You know, this looks curiously like the Vespid 5.2 from Watch Dogs. The shape of the grille opening, the quad headlights, the challenger-like taillights, and the Camaro-esque body all kinda remind me of that car. Well, if you're gonna take inspiration from something, it may as well be a car that's quite sexy ;3 -- Last edit: 2015-12-12 12:01:47
Nice to see they're still adapting concept cars from the recent past into actual cars in-game. I really dug that from Human Revolution. Not to mention, if that outline around the trunk means what I think it means, passenger cars are about to become more than just set-dressing in this game.
We sure this is an Acadia? It looks more like a blend of an Acadia or an Equinox with a GMC Terrain, especially with the greenhouse area.
'80s Chevy C1500, as evidenced by the ride height and five-lug wheels.
Yup. it's a C3500, in scottsdale trim(as indicated by the grille), with the Heavy Duty suspension package (as indicated by the vent panel under the grille).
This looks exactly nothing like a Maxima. The maxima has no rear quarter windows, a different door cut line, the front grille is clearly off a ford, and there are no generations of Maxima that look anything like this in the rear.
You know, looking at this, the Sonarus, and the Vespid, kinda makes me think that the Ubisoft Montreal artists know a few stylists around the automotive biz since today I just saw the new Chinese-market Ford Escort that looks alarmingly similar to this model. Hell, if I had this model extracted from the game I'd easily be able to morph a few details to make a pretty accurate model of the new Escort. Here's the article I'm referring to, by the way: www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2014/07/2015-ford-escort-goes-sunbathing-months-before-showroom-debut/#more-860817 Notice how well the whole front-end lines up, and how the model's rear quarter window is a small upsweep away from looking like the new car. There's no denying that the body was originally based on a Caprice PPV, but now it looks like such a hodgepodge that I really don't know what to give this car for a final designation.
True enough to Naughty Dog's usual art standards, that thing's DAMN close. Having worked on a similar model I can say that everything there is spot-on, even the Dash.
I'd vouch for an international for the nose as well. The original listing was blurry so only the grille and headlights were visible, and not much of the hood or fender flares were visible, so it looked like a topkick. This one looks more modern and has a nose that resembles the International 9900I Eagle.
Not sure. Looks quite a bit like a couple custom jobs that I saw when altering the model from which this one was born. In fact it looks suspiciously similar to MY custom hackjob of their old model... There's a separate listing for the Police one though, so maybe. also, can someone get interior shots of the bloody things? You can go into first-person mode for the cars since it once was a Driver sequel, and I'm curious to see how well they match up to the real deals. -- Last edit: 2014-06-02 15:24:39
Sweet! now I can go and wear a strange hat while armed with a Sniper rifle and an Aussie accent, all the while driving around in my very own camper van
With the clearer pic I'm not so sure if this is a Bronco. A '70s Bronco maybe, but the wheelwells are too square for anything '80s or '90s. It also shares a badge with the Polar, which is a based on a chrysler or dodge, so it would make sense for this to be a Ramcharger, which has squared wheelwells, and the bodypanels are smooth like a ramcharger's. The camper shell is pretty much wrong for all of them no matter which you pick, and the taillights could be either a Ramcharger's or '80s Bronco. the grille is a mishmash though. part '80s ford, part early '90s dodge and a dash of GM scottsdale in there.
Also reminds me of a Fisker Karma's front end.
The Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango are pretty much the same thing. Aspen was never a police car though. That's why it was settled on durango a while ago, but if they want to change it to the Aspen go ahead.
This looks a fair bit like a 2015 Jaguar XS: It's not exact, as the rear doors in the game model don't have that small upward slant in the window of the real deal, but everything else is fairly close, especially the nose.
Whoa, cool! it's the original concept version!
Nope, just an S-10 wearing dodge's crosshair grille. The body, mirrors, and just about everything else are Genuine GM.
Yeah, a K-1500 sounds about right. Most likely from 1986-'87, if that grille and headlight setup is anything to go by.
Yeah, I'd say this is an Isuzu Trooper, not any of the others. The Jeep Grand Cherokee's pillar angles are not upright enough, and it's too short to be a Suburban. The B and C pillars are too thin to be be those of a Tahoe, and the only other vehicle I'd consider for this one is the Jeep Cherokee XJ four-door.
Yeah, this is an early to mid-'90s Explorer, not a Blazer. the rear doors are all wrong for a Blazer, with the C-pillar being too upright for the second generation of the Blazer, and it's not blacked-out, like on the first gen. It's kinda similar to the first-gen Tahoe, but I'm still saying Explorer since the Tahoe has squared wheelwells and a liftgate that doesn't overlap the taillights, unlike that model there, whereas the Explorer does. The only thing that even resembles an S-10 series truck is the headlights, which look similar to a Bravada's.
Uploaded new, high-quality pic from Dualshockers. The design is pretty dead-on as a 2007 Aspen or Durango, even down to the cut lines on the doors. It's also notably wearing Aluminum rims from a 2004-2005 Chevrolet Colorado. It also has a couple elements from the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, in the curve of the rear part of the second-row window and the general wheelwell shape. EDIT: thanks, whoever replaced the old shot! -- Last edit: 2014-05-21 17:23:22
TheHeartbreakKid15 wrote What trim level is this? Probably either Base or LS
I second the Sierra. It has the right shapes to be an '07 Sierra, and the S10s were smaller and less chunky.
Well, you can do an easy engine-swap with these, since the V6 is based off of the Chevy Small-block V8 -- Last edit: 2014-02-14 10:25:52
Most definitely an S10. I'd know, I drive one.
Yeah, this is either a K5 Blazer, a '70s Bronco, or a Ramcharger. We need a better pic.
So they have two generations of Escalade in this game? That's kinda weird, the only games I've seen that in are usually racing games. Still pretty nice though, and look! they even deleted those dumb-ass side vents! Terrific.
Agreed with Civic. It looks like a Beamer to me.
The front looks like a Toyota Tacoma or Hilux, but the sides look like a Ford Ranger's. Fitting, seeing as wherever you see one both of those are usually present in the real world.
It looks a lot like a Dodge Journey or a Durango from the side. I think it's actually derived from a similar vehicle from Conviction that was mistakenly labeled as a Chevrolet Trailblazer on this site. www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=35175 It looks too beefy to be a Land Cruiser. The wheels are too big for a Land Cruiser, and the wheelwells are too round for a GL. The rest of that thing's body looks similar to the GL though. My vote is a Dodge Journey or a Durango with a generic front end.
Hey cool, they modified the Cadillac Escalade from Conviction! So yeah, it's a 2007-2013 Cadillac Escalade.
I find it kinda funny now that I own one of these. They did a good job modeling this one.
caio fivetech wrote With a silver one you can think that you are in Drive... "The Chevy Impala, the most common car in the San Fransisco bay area. Nobody will be looking at you." And I type that while listening to Tick of The Clock by the Chromatics.
That looks sorta like a '90s Ford F-350 from profile alone. Might want to hold off on that though until we get better pics.
Yeah, this is the Blue's version of the Aspen, which makes sense, considering that the Dodge Durango, the vehicle it's based on, is a commonly used Police SUV: And Carcrasher, there's no way in hell that's a QX56. The design is clearly derived from American SUVs like the Aspen, Durango, and in the case of the wheelwell shape, Chevrolet Tahoe. I like to view identifying cars this way: the more modifications you have to make to make the car into an authentic model of whatever vehicle you propose, the less likely it is to be your proposed vehicle. Let's take a look at what has to be done to make it into our respective proposed vehicles, shall we? Aspen: Change headlights Change Wheelwell shape Change D-pillar shape QX56: Change headlights Change grille Change fender shape Change rear door handles Change C-pillar Shape Change Wheelwells Black out B-Pillar Change Trim That's more than twice the amount of changes that have to be made to make it into an authentic QX56 as opposed to an Aspen. Let's go one further, shall we? Honda Pilot: Change Grille Change Window Shape Body-color the B-pillar Change Wheelwell Shape Change Trim Now that's closer, yes, but still not as close as the Aspen. I love those vehicles, but I cannot honestly say that this is an example of either the Pilot or the QX56. -- Last edit: 2013-05-10 18:12:35
I always thought these looked like a '93 Chevrolet S10 Blazer. The pathfinder is close, but the details point to a Blazer. For example, the fact that the rear doors have conventionally-mounted door handles, rather than the pillar-mounted ones that the pathfinder has.
civic_eg6_94 wrote Nice try on the convincing part, but you forgot that the only match to the Aspen is only the front. Body and rear doesn't match to Aspen at all. I say it's a QX56 with Aspen front. Wrong again. Here's a couple photos: There's a QX56 side profile. Note the bowed-back C-pillars, tilted approx. 25 degrees. Here's an Aspen, Side profile. The C-pillars are bowed forward, approx. 10 degrees. Here's another angle of the vehicle in question. It clearly has the Aspen's C-pillar, not the QX56's. In addition, it does NOT have the blacked out B-Pillar like a QX56 does. -- Last edit: 2013-02-21 14:39:05
carcrasher88 wrote That's not an Aspen, it looks more like either an Infiniti QX56 or a Tahoe/Yukon with the front end of the 2012+ Honda Pilot. Incorrect. Look at the window shape and the silver trim beneath the windows: clearly from Chrysler. The headlights are a closer match to the Aspen's platform-mate the Durango, but the grille is spot-on for an Aspen. The Infiniti QX-56 has bowed-back C-pillars like its Nissan counterparts, nullifying that theory, while the Tahoe has an entirely different door and window shape, nullifying that. The closest thing really is an Aspen, and that's because the model that this is derived from is one as well.
It's actually an altered version of a model from Splinter Cell Conviction, with the wheelwells, grille, headlights, and bumper being the primary modifications. I've been playing with the original model for some time now.
Bumppedy Bump. Seems that Ubisoft Montreal is re-using this model for their new game Watch Dogs: Fix the name.
To me the squared headlights, the rounder wheelwell cuts, the window shape, and the fact that it's in Brazil make me think it's a Brazilian Chevrolet D20, from the 1980s.
Huh. I wonder if they have a short-bed SUT version of this. I'd kinda expect it, as conversions like that are pretty common in the area.
It looks like either a fullsize Bronco from the late 80's, or a first-gen Chevrolet S10 Blazer two-door.
Donkey-kong wrote The Rancher SUV is based 100% of a 1975-1980 Chevrolet Blazer K-5/GMC Jimmy K-5, but with an aftermarket grill, like this one carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/3/1830/2901/29573950001_large.jpg I'd still go with a stock '89 Scottsdale Blazer. like I said, same grille structure. Odd that it would be a Scottsdale though, since they were comparatively rarer than the rest of the Blazer trims. Also, the body lines on the front fenders match the refreshed version of that generation, not the original body lines. On the original design, there is a distinct square that juts out and curves downward. On the refreshed front quarter panel, the change is a more subtle square that extends all the way up to the angle where it turns to meet the grille. The Rancher's quarterpanels look more like the refresh. It is probably an aftermarket grille though. Lacks the distinct three-slat design of a Scottsdale grille. Has same headlights though. Squared, but similar to the pre-refresh grille.
No, the S10 Blazer designation applies to all trucks of that range. It's because they're built off of the S10/S15 platform and have been since '83, when they first introduced the compact Blazer. The two-door model is often referred to as a Blazer Sport.
How could you people sit there and call the Burrito and Pony Ram vans or Econolines? These are based off of the late 90's chevrolet express vans, like the Ambulance and Laundromat vans. It has an upright door handle, the B-pillar for the window on the door is at a 90-degree angle, and it has a GMT-400 style grille. All things that Ram Vans have never had. The nose is too short and the Wheelwells are too round for an econoline. Whoever did this, fix it. And get some glasses while you're at it. |
