![]() Driv3r (2004) | Even to this day, Driv3r is still an awful game as it is. It's such a shame, because Reflections was a good developer and the Driver series started to have success on both the US and Europe. In my first entry on "Broken Games: Fixing A Game For Remasters", I would cover games notorious for negative reception and at least have them addressed to make a better game without the flaws and bugs. First and foremost, the game itself. Because the game was rushed by Atari SA, the third entry from Reflections Interactive (based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England), Driver 3 (or the horrible-sounding Driv3r), was met with negative reception for its sheer amount of bugginess. But that's not the only thing that was wrong with the game. Stilted animations, terrible on-foot controls, underwhelming gunplay, and awful visuals (at least on consoles) made it a letdown. Not only was the game absolutely thrashed by critics, it spawned the notorious scandal, known as "Driv3rgate". If my ideas of a remastered version of this game would take hold, I'd have a developer teach us how we can fix broken games. First off, I'd have the game's visuals and animations up to date for next-gen. Visual Improvements: -Dump the robotic movements from peds and Tanner in favor of realistic movements, akin to most modern open world games. -Re-recreating the three cities of Miami, Fla., Nice, France, and Istanbul, Turkey, to real-life proportions and make them at least a little big bigger, with photogrammetry. Since we're in an era where drones are now a thing, it should be a bit faster. -Graphics were very bad in the original Driv3r, so it should be replaced with a new skybox, a dynamic time and weather system, and visuals that can compete with the PS5 and Xbox Series X, and 4K UHD support. -Update the character and vehicle models significantly, so that they look more shinier, and have loads of details. Granted, that takes a lot of work. -Add tons of quality of life improvements, such as ambient dialogue from pedestrians, people visiting places, entering cars, et cetera. Vehicles: -All cars would be updated with 4K technology and would have realistic designs and interiors. -There should be at least 100 or more cars of different varieties, at least up to the early 90s. -Damage would be improved in leaps and bounds, and more parts of the vehicle would be jettisoned. Vehicle engines can seize up and it can be possible to have oil and gas leaks. Cars would blow up by first having the engine catch on fire and then spread across the car. Damage is also determinant on the smoke coming from the engine, not from a damage meter. -You can smash windows on parked cars or picklock them. Mechanics: -Add a cover mechanic. Not only is that now mandated in most open world games, it should be necessary to avoid getting shot a lot. -Fix the enemy AI. Seriously, killing an enemy who just stands in one place is just not working. Having them glide to cover and adapt to Tanner's reactions during firefights would certainly get people liking the game. -Like I mentioned with the cities, they need more personality. The original cities from the game were wasted due to a linear, disjointed Undercover mode. Look at GTA and Assassin's Creed, for example, and you'll understand. -Get rid of the menu's integration of having Undercover, Take A Ride, or Challenges as a menu and allocate them in the cities itself. You could also switch cities. Others: -Consider adding new sidequests. We're not asking for Techland-styled amount of quests, but additional activities besides the challenges would be nice. -New dialogue from the characters, with new voices. -Adding a garage to have cars would be really nice. -Some games have a handbook entry. Why not do that, if you want to be familiar with the people, the places, and the cars? That's just my suggestion, but it's not too likely to come into fruition. Hey, a man can dream! Granted, all of this would take a lot of work, but people would love to see a polished Driv3r. -- Last edit: 2020-10-14 03:07:40

Lincoln Town Car Transport Fever 2 (2019) | After some extensive research about this car's facelift and this model, this is a 1995 model: Wikipedia wrote As with the Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis, the Town Car received a larger update for the 1995 model year in late 1994 as the FN116. This facelift is best distinguished by the deletion of the fixed quarter glass in the rear doors along with the redesign of the side mirrors (enlarged and changed to body-color). Although the bumper largely remained unchanged, the front fascia was updated as the headlamp clusters are changed to a clear-lens design and separated from the grille. The grille was redesigned, returning to the 1990-1992 design in a surround fitting closer to the body. The rear fascia saw the trim between the tail lamps redesigned, featuring additional running lights, while the reverse lamps were moved from the outer edges of the reflector panel to the center, beneath the lid lock cover (similar to the 1985 - 1987 models). Furthermore, the car spawns in the year 1995. -- Last edit: 2020-09-16 02:36:15

Lincoln Navigator BeamNG.drive (2013) | generalrusty78 wrote Why it doesn't break the rules... Its your formatting. It makes your comment body look awful, plus it makes it hard to read. One of these days this format will not be supported any longer, so may-be you should change the formatting or use Imgur, like I do. There's also a href links you can use /// Going back to this again, maybe BeamNG GmbH should've looked this through, rather than going through the hassle of remastering this, along side the original Roamer. Also, like @Stryder237 mentioned before-hand, BeamNG is in a serious conundrum. Game has been out for over 7 years - and longer in development. Does BeamNG.Drive have a future? Where is this game even bothering to head to? Developement hell (I hope not)? Beam hasn't done anything to a possible campaign that many fans were hoping for! 7 years, and this is the best that this is? Are BeamNG not putting any effort towards the core elements? Why haven't they considered adding loads of gens for each car? It's been complicated. Development is in troubling times because of the current situation we still live in, and the problem is excalibrated even before the coronavirus pandemic. It's rather sad, very sad, that a game with so much ambition, so much potential as a game changer, ended up going to waste. There's hardly any compelling content to keep you interested. Is there any hope for a better BeamNG? Given the current situation, not so likely. ![]() A community-led design philosophy sounded great for this game at the time, and games like the Transport Fever series (of which I'm writing an elaborate wishlist for future games of the series atm) does this fairly okay. BeamNG, however is a rough scene. There's nothing wrong with a good game made for the community, you know. -- Last edit: 2020-09-14 22:43:51
