Still mad about the fact that they got the performance stats wrong, which is very much noticeable in the game. Drives more like a 520i.

Its so good to have the '96 Impala SS back, been waiting for this to return for a long time!

The Grand Tour Game (2019)
I think this is the best thing about the whole game, the completely random selection of cars thats being added, not following the conventional "what cars do people want to see in a racing game". Its definitely the reason why I bought it, even if everything else is mediocre at best.

Awesome to be able to drive it in Forza now. Took it around the Nordschleife yesterday, its a beast!

Hahaha, how did this end up in the game? This was a test vehicle for the monster truck, it was never supposed to be driveable in the actual game. Very strange, looks like a level designer might have placed a spawner for it in the world which was added in one of the recent updates.
Cadillac Escala

Grand Theft Auto V (2013)
Wow, thats definitely one of the more poorly designed models Rockstar has pumped out. Everything just looks so blocky and unnecessarily lowpoly, just a really half-assed model really.

Great to see that Turn10 and Hyundai still have a partnership and continue to offer these free DLC packs for one of their new cars for the third time now. Great advertisement for Hyundai and great free DLC for the players.

BMW M5

Command & Conquer: Generals (2003)
Not an E36 but a E39, you just need to zoom in close enough to tell. The hood lines are a give-away from this angle too.
Mazda 626

Command & Conquer: Generals (2003)
Not an Octavia, its a 1997ish 626 wagon as you can tell by the front fascia including the Mazda grille. The rear end looked like a 626 as well iirc.
Nismo GT-R LM

Forza Motorsport 7 (2017)
There seem to be multiple ways of earning these specialty dealer cars in the game (without having to spend any real money). Its pretty cool that Turn10 decided to introduce something like this in the game, makes these vehicle only more desirable. Still wish there was something like a used car dealer like you've found in GT though.

Forza Motorsport 7 (2017)
Definitely one of the more interesting new-to-the-series cars, and something you wouldn't find in other games. Would love to see a 4-door version of this gen Commodore!

They didn't, I think its supposed to be shadow chrome but the material is way too dark.

CarCrazedAlex586 wrote

Hey, Schaefft! Do you have any model names for the vehicles in the game?

Nothing that's not visible on the model. Most cars didn't receive a model name, only the stuff you can find on the cars themselves (which are mostly trim levels or badges for engine size or type/weight classes).

Gotta say, I'm impressed that they made a model from the ground up instead of restyling the TBT-7000 from WD2.

The Escalade in WD2 looked complete garbage, that was the main reason.

2006+ Impala is the closest, front end and greenhouse would fit, anything else probably doesn't make sense.
Mitsubishi Emeraude

Desscythe17 wrote

Are you hinting towards the Mitsubishi Emeraude by any chance?

Bingo! Whether people wanna put that down as its name or stick to the Eunos/Xedos I'm not sure. It is intended to look like an Emeraude, but its still heavily based on the Eunos.

And in case anyone is wondering about the many JDM spec cars in the game, a large portion of them are second hand grey imports directly from Japan. 80% of people seem to drive JDM Toyotas in Bolivia, this model was originally intended to be a Corolla Ceres, (it still has its alloys). To make sure that not everything in the game was based on vehicles from Toyota, and because I love Mazdas from this era so much (and owned a Xedos 6 myself), I decided to base it on the Xedos instead. To avoid confusion for the players, all cars in the game are LHD though.

Mitsubishi Emeraude

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands (2017)
Before anyone leaves IGCD because of the car, let me clear things up a bit:

The model was obviously based on the other variant of this sedan (in fact, it is the same car in the game), with a new front and rear fascia. While one version was indeed based on the Eunos 500/Xedos 6 (however created using the blueprint of a 4th gen 626, with a bit of Efini MS8 thrown in for the back to mix things up while sticking to the general early-mid 90s Mazda design language), the modifications seen on this variant were based on another manufacturer's JDM-only competitor of Mazda's "premium" midsize sedans. I don't want to reveal yet which car it is, but don't rely on their ingame brands too heavily, as only a limited number of names were available that wouldn't cover the whole range of brands in the game.

I think you can assume how I got the info above. If anyone's interested, I can clear up some of the other vehicles once the game is out. ;)

Case of Ubisoft being lazy: this shares similar body shape and pillars with this, just with different front and rear design.

Or maybe the intend was to create more variety in the vehicle lineup by adding badge-engineered/facelifted variations of certain models that would otherwise not be in the game? :)

Hm, the textures don't seem to load properly then as even on console the license plates aren't that blurry. Theres also no ambient occlusion underneath the cars, making them look like they float.

Dodge Intrepid

Grand Theft Auto III (2001)
Just browsing through google images I came across the '01 Stratus when it hit me. The general concave rear styling and shape of the C-pillar are getting as close to that super lowpoly Kuruma model as any car will get. I think most of us agree that the model was largely inspired by Chrysler's full- and midsize sedans around 2000 (when the Kuruma was designed) and definitely are not a Stylus.

But I think the general proportions of the car are closer to the Stratus than they are to the Intrepid (it just isn't quite as long/sleek) so the Stratus would be my choice.

And btw, amazing that I only noticed that now 2 days after this discussion started again. I expected to dig out a topic from 10 years ago. :D

Love it, great to see they are still adding those into games regularly. This a 1993-94 btw, as indicated by the mirrors, rearquarter window shape and round rear wheel arches. I'd have to see the dashboard to tell which year it is exactly.

Saturn ION

Nightmare Adventures: The Witch's Prison (2010)
2003-2007 Saturn ION Sedan. The characteristic crease in the doors might be missing, but details like the door handles, the crease right under the side windows and the rear door window shape are a give away. I think you can even see the center mounted gage cluster which should be all you need. :) Also notice the taillight shape in this screenshot, obviously the characteristic roof line was changed to avoid copyright issues.

Battlefield: Hardline (2015)
Pretty weird proportions. I'd say its a '93MY because of round rear wheel arches but no rounded corner in the rear quarter windows. Its still got the old style taillights but since these are pretty messed up anyway it shouldn't matter too much. The dash seems to look pre-94 as well.
