1977 Holden LX Torana SS probably A9X option, as there was a Brock version created for the game originally. i37.tinypic.com/ie2ypg.jpg
XB Hardtop, with Cobra paint scheme (which was an XC) but still an XB model here.
Always thought this was a Range Rover too. Believe it shows up in the game in the tactical screen as well. More than likely this model was used for the pre-render: artist-3d.com/free_3d_models/uploads/13_4WD_3dmax_model.jpg
Pretty sure this was the model they pre-rendered from, most of the assets in game were pre-rendered using models that were freely available on the net at the time. Still don't actually know what truck it is. artist-3d.com/free_3d_models/uploads/12_heavytruck_3dmodel.jpg
This model was specifically built for the PS2/PSP version, where most if not all traffic vehicles were edited/differed from the parent PC/Xbox game or built from scratch.
All traffic vehicles were built to appear generic, to avoid copyright issues as none were officially licensed. They were originally based of real world models and brands, but edited.

Shant J is right. As I recall when working on the game, the Trans AM logos were dropped as there was some copyright issues with them, perhaps GM no longer own the rights? I know textures were drawn up for Trans AM badging, but were red flagged when it came to authorisation.
This was one of the first Falcons to be made designed and manufactured in Australia. -- Last edit: 2011-04-09 03:56:32
A whole lot more Mustang than Australian Falcon, check the front grille, and rear fenders. eyeforcars.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/1969_mustang_boss302track.jpg The MFP Falcon suggested above is an XB, and quite different from the Motorstorm car www.aussiemusclecarmuseum.com.au/images/cars/frontal8.jpg -- Last edit: 2009-08-17 08:34:31
Would agree on the back wings, but not so much on the front grille which is a lot more 50's in style. Possibly influenced by both methinks. 50's Buick front 60's Dodge rear. -- Last edit: 2009-08-17 08:36:57
The grille and bonnet are very much an Australian Ford Falcon, XB (1973-1976) www.aus-ford-uk.co.uk/assets/images/autogen/a_XB_falcon-4.jpg -- Last edit: 2009-04-28 02:48:14
A fairly accurate representation of the Black on black Interceptor from the Mad Max films. A modified Ford Falcon XB with Monza front, flared arches and and various spoilers. Rear screen and boot have been removed for extra fuel barrels as featured in second movie.
Looks a whole lot more like a Mustang than an Australian Falcon. XC's had quite flat fronts and sharper lines while the model in the game is clearly more inspired by the Mustang, in particular the front grille, rounded corner by the headlamps and rear hip line.
Looks a whole lot more like a Mustang rather than an Australian Falcon. Seems to be a bit of a mix up in regard to linking the Australian police car (Falcon) to the model in the game which is clearly more visually similar to a Mustang, in particular the front grille, rounded corner by the headlamps and rear hip line.
Falcon XA, XB and XC's were new Australian designs based on the American Ford Torino floor plan. XB's ran from 1973 to 1976 and mostly recognised for appearing in the Mad Max films. -- Last edit: 2011-04-09 03:58:42
Those rear lights sure do remind me of the current MR2 img355.imageshack.us/img355/7924/gta3stingeropentop2or2.th.jpg www.mtholyoke.edu/~dwilga/photos/car/Image003.jpg And I always got the impression it was a Japanese car in the game, especially with it's well behaved roadholding and being a Yakuza vehicle.
Another American 80's Nascar inspired car. Not sure which one mind you, though all look very similar in racing trim.
Yup, I'd agree with a Monte Carlo in Nascar racing trim. www.thunderplex.com/stockcarmodel/de_wrangler_mc.jpg
Explorer4x4 a écrit Were 442's even available in convertible body styles? This might answer your question... www.seriouswheels.com/pics-1970-1979/1970-Oldsmobile-442-W30-Orange-fa-web-1280x960.jpg I still think it's based on a Mustang, especially with RockStar's 'Stallion' name, but who knows really. The Mercury Cougar is also a good option, but that's based on a Mustang body shell anyway.
3.0S. And yeah those mirrors are a bit out aren't they.
It's not a Vedette, that was a French variation, and had a different grille, not to mention engine. Simply '1949 Ford coupe' is a more accurate title.
Title should be corrected to XR8 (not KR8)
Yes a Gran Torino, 1976 according to wikipedia.
This is a Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth, origin UK. -- Last edit: 2008-07-24 04:58:59
Full title: Ford Mustang GT-R
It's an XB, and is a GT. Country of origin should be Australia too. Full title should probably be Ford Falcon XB GT Hardtop.
1957 Buick Special 4-door Sedan, just move the 'missile tips' outward. The end of the day, no cars in GTA are accurate copies of real cars, otherwise they'd get in trouble for copyright though some have more obvious similarities to the real thing, like the Blista Compact for example being a Honda CRX. www.boscosgarage.com/photos/projects/jy57buick-real.jpg |
