Excerpt from the Wiki page. And the vehicle brands were created way before GTA IV came around, but it wasn't as abundant.

Much like Maibatsu vehicles advertised in earlier games between GTA III and GTA Liberty City Stories, the Insurrection is not seen on the road, but is distinctive in that it is clearly featured on advertising.

The car's appearance marks the first time the Imponte name is used as a car brand in the GTA series.

And if that's not convincing enough, Transcript from the radio advert

Leisure. Rebellion. Insubordination.

It's a world-class turbocharged touring car,
where you're surrounded by the very latest in high-tech technological wizardry.

Plus, a genuine pleather-wrapped steering wheel,

Take out the T-tops, put them in the trunk, step on the gas,
and hear the throaty roar of the V-8 screaming under the hood.

Isn't it time you outperformed the competition, and came first?

And I agree with it looking like a Mazda RX-7 but still, the game claims it's an Imponte.

Even though it has the 80's Japanese 2 door coupe styles, the radio commercial says it's an Imponte, which is obviously the parody of Pontiac. And FYI, GTAWiki wouldn't have as much info if it was filled with lies.

The doors match with a first or second generation Subaru Legacy, which are from the same era than the Skyline R32 (the headlights), so I think it could be a Legacy Wagon. Hovewer, it's definitely not a Honda Accord, unlike in SA. Then, that would made Zirconium the GTA equivalent of Subaru (the equivalent of Honda is Dinka), and not Chrysler, even if there is the Zirconium building, the equivalent of Chrysler is in fact Schyster (they manufactured the PMP 600 (Chrysler C300) and the Minivan Cabby (Grand Voyager)

He does have a point, however the body seems a bit too wide for it to be a Legacy wagon, but I guess the Skyline R32 front end sort of attributes to that, along with it's 6-cyl engine in the wagon itself, and plus by looking at the car more, it seems to be more curvier than the 4th Gen Accord wagon, which was slightly boxy.

Well, hold on, the taillights look more like the 1st Gen Impreza, but it's definitely not an Impreza, the 2nd Gen Legacy was way more curvier, the 1st Gen looks no where near as the Stratum, and I'm confusing myself. :miam:

Okay I know this is old to reply to, but I found something that could be interesting, I did some comparison between the Merit and the Fleet sedan the "older" police cruiser is based on, but by looking at this pic again, and looking at how the rear quarter window is shaped, and it looks very much like the Fleet sedan's, however like RF said, it doesn't look like there's a any mounting bars for the lightbar or may possibly be a taxi(with the sign being blown off in the explosion), but then I watched the trailer video again, and the car's doors look to be painted white while the rest is black, so it could be the police cruiser and now with a detachable lightbar? OR, It could possibly be a civilian version of the car?

Also, note that the regular police cruiser in GTA IV has two roof mounted antennas while the burning shell in the pic posted above has one, the taxi doesn't have any besides trunk mounted ones.
www.grandtheftwiki.com/images/PoliceCruiser-GTAIV-rear.jpg

Anyone got any thoughts about this?

Oh, and also if you looked closely on the video as the camera sort of zooms/pans up on the car, you can see the curved sides of the rear taillights of the police cruiser's.

May as well be the non-modified version of the Schafter since all there was in TBOGT was Tony's which was the "Avant-garde" trim in Mercedes speak, and the non-modified version, which was dubbed "Elegance" trim was only spawnable via trainers or mods, for some odd reason the car lacked a certain traffic spawning code, but still spawns in traffic nevertheless when spawned via trainer. Though I'm still iffy about it, picture's small and blurry and despite it having similar features, it might be a whole different car once the game's released.

Seems like an import lot judging from the Mustangs, and Escalade in the background, but I guess it's somewhat a rarity to see big LHD American cars in Japan, same with Taiwan and the other countries excluding China and Hong Kong since car market's growing over there. But yeah, one of my friends said that there's only 20 Dodge Rams in all of Taiwan so far, along with a few other pickups almost counts as rare as seeing a Pagani on the road.
Honda Civic

Forza Motorsport 4 (2011)
Guess they did that since majority of the Fifth gen Civic wheels were steelies with hubcaps, and I guess they didn't want to add those in for whatever reason. The only other suitable wheels would've been the silver painted steelies or the Si rims, but that wouldn't fit the trim.

I don't understand why you guys are fighting over stuff like this... I honestly think, if anything has a motor, has wheels, a person can operate it and move from a location to another, it should be listed. I mean, really I've already seen stuff that isn't specifically A car, truck, van, or anything like that being posted previously, and yet I see nobody complaining until now about it. I mean, look at GTA for the sake of it, especially San Andreas, the Forklift's listed yet it's not a car, the tractor is,and the combine harvester, so what if it's not drivable or not in game?

The trunk's referred as the 3rd door because people can get alternate access to the back seats than just folding the front seats forward and trying to squeeze through.

When this car is "dirty" it appears to have a center rear windshield wiper, unusual except on JDM coupes/sedans like the last gen Evo and ER34 Skyline well, both the 4 door and 2 door Skylines had rear wipers anyway, and that got me thinking, how come they omitted this off of the US Spec Evo and 2 door coupes like that? Even though my RL car doesn't have one, it's sort of a pain having to get out and wipe the rear window from rain or dew, and defroster doesn't do much justice.
