58Roadmaster wrote I propose that you identify the prototype car for which the majority of this example is similar. That means any 1961 Dodge or Plymouth (Dart, Polara, Fury, Savoy). I take a personal offense to naming this as a Buick by its front end only, while the artist was simply intending to recreate a generic General Motors front from the mid-1950s. I agree, but it'll fall on deaf ears. Trust me the longer you hang around this site the more frustrated and disappointed you will be. While many times it's harder to ID cars in video games than in movies, it seems most of the people on this site don't really know cars, and make assumptions and wild guesses...it's nothing like IMCDB where most people know their stuff. -- Last edit: 2009-07-24 22:25:06
Black Bart wrote I would say 1982-1985 Chevrolet Celebrity. How??? Body? Nothing like it. Tailights? Nothing like it. Grille? Nothing like it. It's a mix of 3 cars... mid 80's Lincoln Continental main body(quarter window of a markVII as the rear door) 82-83 Chevy Malibu Grille 83-86 Bonneville taillights
Doesn't look much like an Auburn to me. The upright grille is more like a late 30's Cadillac LeSalle or perhaps a '40 Packard.
International S-series
Looks like a crappy version of a Cadillac Seville to me.
if this is for the van, it's a Chevy or GMC express, with 70's Mopar rallye wheels and a '75 or so Ford van grille.
'63 Bel-Air or Biscayne. Impala would have 3 taillights, and a '65 looks nothing like this. -- Last edit: 2009-07-21 21:49:07
takumi wrote yes its exactly the same model, its the crhysler on your pics ? Yeah, a '75 Chrysler Town and Country -- Last edit: 2009-07-13 20:10:50

Skid wrote That would be a 1973-1975 Dart, definitely. In 1976 the dart was replaced by the Aspen. The A bodies lasted until '76. Although the Aspen/Volare replaced them, they were both available in 76. I remember the rear of this car in the game and it's definitely the late 74-76 style. A 73 still has the taillights in the bumper. -- Last edit: 2009-07-10 06:28:15
still a 68 | ||
although it's done up like a general lee...it's a '69 Pontiac GTO
Black Bart wrote 1983 Ford LTD Country Squire in the movie. www.imcdb.org/vehicle_31922-Ford-LTD-Country-Squire-1983.html Yes, but this is a Chrysler IMO. it's not exact, but look at the grille/headlights, the windows and rear door window shape, and notice the body line "dip" above the rear wheel. -- Last edit: 2009-07-10 05:08:33
'63 | ||
The side trim and rear do look like a '55/'56 Chevy but the front bumper and grille are more like a '56 Pontiac
It's a '68. A '70 has a loop front bumper and a one-piece scoop on the door.
Yes, '69 Road Runner. Notice the stripes and hood buldges. .
I'll agree with you on this one It does look more like a Javelin, the fender arches and body lines are more like the AMC. I think it does have a few RR or '70 Challenger influence on it though, such as the grille.
Black Bart wrote 1983 Mercury Grand Marquis No. It's a Royal Monaco...You're all over the map man, give it a rest. -- Last edit: 2009-06-13 19:06:02
Black Bart wrote 1986 Cadillac Brougham imcdb.org/vehicle_102879-Cadillac-Brougham-1986.html www.imcdb.org/vehicle_84441-Cadillac-Brougham-1986.html Nope. Not an '86....80's Cadillacs have a different grille with park lights under the headlights, pretty much the same taillights though. It's almost spot on for a '79 with this grille, and actually shouldn't be listed as a '77 as they have shorter, wrap around taillights. i105.photobucket.com/albums/m202/havvik/pm79fw.jpg Should be changed to a '79. -- Last edit: 2009-05-21 01:00:14
71 Monte Carlo? i think you mean '78-79 Buick Regal farm1.static.flickr.com/218/490832580_0601524f70.jpg?v=0
Neon wrote It's a Ford by the position of the side markers yes I noticed that, but other than that it looks more Chevy to me.
Not much like a Ford...More like a '73-'78 Chevy C-10 z.about.com/d/4wheeldrive/1/0/a/O/1/MAson_WI_78ChevPU_RR.jpg
Black Bart wrote Well I just think it's a '86 Monte Carlo SS. Get over it. Why do you keep editing and changing your comments and pics? You think it's a Monte Carlo because some other GTA site probably says it is. If you knew anything about cars you'd see what I mean about the Pontiac tail lights. You people that don't know dick should stop trying to ID stuff.
1976 dart actually | ||
I would say made for game since it's a hodge podge of different cars, although all the body side chrome is a match for a '58 Chevy Impala. www.mountainhomeautomuseum.com/58%20Chevy%20Impala%20006.jpg
The body side textures are straight from a '64 Ford Galaxie. I assume then that's what it's supposed to be. other than having 4 headlights, it doesn't look much like a Chrysler at all. upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cc/1964_Ford_Galaxie_500_XL_352.JPG
Ford 8N | ||
Black Bart wrote But it has the hood and quarter window of a 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Look at the quarter window of the Pontiac I posted and the Monte you posted....see any difference???? The hood isn't much different either.
[UL wrote Charger] I never saw 4-door Monte-Carlo. You didn't...But most cars in GTA are modified from their real-lifecounterparts. It's pretty obvious it's a Monte Carlo, they just made it into a 4 door.
most like a 57 Dodge D series...just squared off a little.
57 Dodge D-300 | ||
also similar to this '31 Hudson http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Hudson_4-D_Sedan1931.jpg
Black Bart wrote 1982 Ford Bronco XLT Much more like a '86 or so Chevy k5 Blazer. The body lines are all wrong for a Ford, and the grill is more Chevy like.
??? | ||
71 Road Runner | ||
I'd say Pontiac Grand Prix which the tail lights look much more like, the Monte's tail lights are thinner with integrated back up lights, whereas the pontiac's are on the trunk like the car in the game. And the have the same roof as a Monte Carlo anyways. The front you could go either way...it's not exactly like a Monte Carlo, or the Pontiac. I doubt it's what the game makers had in mind, but to me the front is most like a Dodge 600 Pontiac: Dodge 600
Black Bart wrote 1984 Chevy Caprice Classic members.cox.net/gtavehicles/RLC/Tahoma-84CapriceClassic.jpg No. Quite clearly it's a 1981 Monte Carlo made into a 4 door. Front and rear is pretty much spot on, also notice the quarter window.
GNX's were always black were they not? I'd say Buick Regal T-Type -- Last edit: 2009-02-27 17:57:48
I wouldn't say Ford at all. The body lines are more like a Dodge and the grille is obviously a Chevy. -- Last edit: 2009-02-27 17:44:57
'53-'55 F-100 Panel Van. They didn't use F-150 until the 1970's! -- Last edit: 2009-02-27 17:47:42
4 door Monte Carlo huh? And what Monte Carlo has tail lights at all like that? 1980 Plymouth Gran Fury
alcrd wrote change the descripction this car is not fiction it exist in real life too its Liebherr T 282B used in industry for heavy transportation It can't be based on the T 282B, since that wasn't even designed until 2004. This game came out in '98. I'd guess it's supposed to be an older Caterpillar 777 or 789
Much more like a '63. | ||
Black Bart wrote 1974 or '75 Buick Riviera or 1975 Chevy Caprice. No not a caprice, they actually have this one right '75-'76 Riviera..Don't confuse them.
1970 Olds Cutlass.................Just without the split in the grill and only one taillight per side. Oddly, early version of the game did have the correct 2 vertical lights per side, I guess it was changed because it looked too correct??
1970 Olds Cutlass (or 442 if you want)...We already went through this on the GTAIV board. As Skid said on the regular Sabre page it's exactly like the Olds with out the split in the grill. You can even see the cutouts in the bumper where the grill is supposed to end. Visualize it like this...... farm1.static.flickr.com/108/298514380_e8e617bdd3.jpg?v=0 Call this one a 442, and the regular Sabre a Cutlass. I agree, W-900.
Much closer to a Bedford MK. www.ianhardy.net/gallery/main.php/d/6453-2/crw_4021l_std.jpg Notice the cutouts in the bumper. The fender, step and door shape. And the "eyebrow" over the headlights which has been moved up for some reason. -- Last edit: 2009-01-28 00:56:38
