@Jammy22: In that sense, yes. Kind of like how the 1971 Chevrolet Vega had a front end that looked a lot like the 1970 Camaro.

@Jammy22: You're definitely not wrong in saying that.

From Wikipedia:

Citation Its styling has been likened to the 1968 Chevrolet Corvette which went on sale in September 1967.

...and the link connected to that sentence: auto.howstuffworks.com/opel-gt.htm

Citation The Opel GT was styled chiefly by GM’s Clare MacKichan, who’d played a big part in designing the 1955 Chevrolet before his tour of duty in the Russelsheim studios. This may explain the up-front similarity between the GT and the newly styled ‘68 Corvette, with the same low, sharply profiled nose, blade-type bumper, and hidden headlamps. The latter operated manually on the Opel, revolving up out of their recesses to give the car something of a frogeye look.

Hmmm....

Pictures seem to be hard to find.

If I recall properly, the Conrero GT was the FIA Group 4 version of the GT (rally, sportscar racing, GT racing). Wider fenders are the biggest giveaway to the Conrero.

The name 'Conrero', I believe, comes from Virgilio Conrero, who has done work on Opels (apparently including the GT) (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgilio_Conrero).

What exactly is the Conrero? Is it a conversion of some kind?
