Originally designed as a road-legal confidence booster for the wealthy but poorly endowed, the Tyrus found its true calling elsewhere. It didn't just beat its race-tuned rivals - it serially teabagged them across every endurance grand prix in competitive motorsport. Which is particularly good for you, because you can pretend this isn't all about your tiny, tiny package.

don't forget it also looks like a Mosler MT900

Yeah...that's not a total ripoff.

Though, it seems rather obvious there is some F1 inspiration in the S7's design. The roof scoop, the hood scoop, the headlight shape is similar, though clearly not the same.

It isn't right to say the S7 is an F1 ripoff, but it is definitely right to say that the car's design was at least partially inspired by it.

What this conversation has made me realise is that the S7 is actually a total ripoff of the McLaren F1.

But this is still a McLaren F1 GTR.

It does look like the S7. But since it's a race car and the S7R really doesn't look like it, I'd still say it's a F1 GTR. It's probably what they were going for too, considering the manufacturer. Remember the F1 and S7 are very similar looking cars.

1. Manufactre is not a standing point. (remember Zirconium?)
2. The car looks too modern to be a F1 GTR.
3. A spoiler doesn't make a car.

Remember the turismo R , looks nothing like a Laferrari but ended up as such because of its GTA label and specs

The F1 GTR '97 is too modern for you? Your point is invalid, the S7 debuted in 2000, it's just a 3 year difference.

F1 GTR body, with multiple Saleen S7 elements.

Since the car is manufactured by Progen and their only other car is a P1-looking supercar, I'd say it's a F1 GTR. Plus it features a wing similar to that one: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/29/Parabolica_McLaren_F1_GTR.jpg

Yes, I'm quite sure it's because of technical limitations as you said. Well not really a limitation since i'm sure you can make a 3 seater vehicle for the game but I guess it won't look so well since animations don't support 3 seaters, so to not make the transition between exiting and entering the vehicle look so bad they just made it as a 2 seater imo. Since the driver seat is in the middle on the real deal the player would probably fly over the side seats or something like that to get onto it, lol, that's how I imagine the bad animation.

It has more like S7 interior, since it is 2 seater and not 3, that can be a technical limitation of the game though.

It's not a 50/50, most of it is based on the '97 F1 GTR.
So just because it has two scoops in the front bumper similar to the S7 ones but still having a different front bumper shape than the S7 one you still call this a 50/50? Nope.
The Tyrus front bumper scoops are alot stretched in width compared to the Saleen ones. The bumper design it's alot shorter in height. And it doesn't have the side scoops on the bumper like on the real one.

About the rear, don't forget the F1 GTR also has a similar rear end.

Not only is the front bumper similar to the Saleen S7, the entire rear is a perfect match to the S7.

Same tail lights, same rear vents, same exhaust, same license plate location.

All in all, it seems to be a near 50/50 split between McLaren F1 GT and Saleen S7.

Definitely based on a Longtail F1 GT, with the S7 style front bumper scoops.

I'm seeing a good bit of Saleen S7 in there as well, especially in the front bumper.
