Because what you already modeled before isnt that hard to remodel. Im pretty sure they explained that its from scratch due to them splitting

The Shift games and all their assets belong to EA. Even if SMS still had the assets, it would be illegal for them to use them. That's all.

I agree with speedevil considering they parted ways from EA, this might be another one. EA is pretty possessive

Edit : I think I read before how the devs explaining how they are rebuilding everything due to the fact the two companies parting away
