Now, he isn't in Gran Turismo today. He's with his very driver, Dan Gurney in heaven.

Gurney died in the same year as this car did, but 2 months apart from their deaths(Gurney: January, Cuda: March).

I'll take one of these over a Challenger any day of the week. I just hope the racing modification makes it look like Savage's AAR.

RM's aren't in the game anymore, all GT5 RM cars are now seperate LM race cars.

In a straight-line it's not much of a difference - except that you can choose much wider tires in the back which has sort of a positive efect. But if you look at a F.A.S.T. or Pure Stock Muscle Car drag race you can see that the bias-ply tires are actually not that bad.

However, if there's a corner... And oh God, don't even think about driving in the rain...

Understandable. It would be pretty cool to see the performance difference between the bias-ply tires and radials, it would certainly highlight the limitations of tires from back then.

@ Mad Mike: Depends on the driver - 99% of drivers were quicker with a TF, the others (Dick Landy, Ronnie Sox and the like) could bang the four gears always so fast, that they were faster than an A-727 car by some lengths.
But anyway, I drove a manual Challenger T/A and an automatic AAR 'Cuda in the Swiss Alps - those cars handle so great that it's just a pity, when you can't row that shifter through the gears! But of course, that's a matter of taste.
And yes, Goodyear Polyglas are terrible to drive, but they just look so much better. I'd prefer it, if those were standard and you can upgrade them afterwards to radials like shown above.

Pure porn but:
1.) Why not a 4-Speed manual (who wants an automatic T/A Challenger or AAR 'Cuda?)
2.) Why does it feature those aftermarket white-letter-tires and not correct Goodyear Polyglas?

Wasn't the 3 speed Torqueflite automatic transmission quicker than the 4-speed when it came to standing 1/4 miles? Although since this is a small block road racer, understandably you would want the manual transmission.
As for the tires, aren't radials mean't to provide superior all round performance over bias-ply tires? Granted it is not original.

Still a nice addition.

The AAR 'Cuda was essentially a road going version of the cars run by the factory backed Trans-Am series team AAR, which stands for All American Racers, with drivers Swede Savage and Dan Gurney.
