When Empire Interactive went bankrupt, the Flatout franchise was bought by some company (it seems it was bought by Team 6, but it would be weird, I think Strategy First did) and they released this game while it wasn't even finished. If you look at the real Flatout games you'll see the cars had nothing to do with this.
