2012-08-22 03:22 | i actually own one of this, but is the GTS version (just like the GTi, but with 1.8 engine and with a carb) this car is crap, noisy(even for a 25 years old car) uncofortable, not that fast (only 100 HP) and ugly as hell.... this crap(and newer versions) is the most famous car in brazil, but they are very poorly made, the only good quality of the car is the reliabillity (but only in the older versions like this one, called "box version") |

2011-12-06 04:50 | "VW is too common and kinda boring now" The GTI and R line disagrees "they started getting expensive even if name suggest its for everybody" I agree, but every big brand is doing that, that's a trending of the market in the whole world, a very stupid trending, but it is -- Last edit: 2011-12-06 04:55:55 |

2011-11-30 02:22 | The 156 is a very nice car, too bad they don't sell it here anymore... "VW nothing special" The Gol is (or Was) the eighth best selling car in the world, is the third or fourth best selling VW of all time and it is a Brazilian car, so we are a little proud of it... |

2011-11-23 03:22 | Hi, new here The Gol GTI was also faster than the Polo GTI, the first GTI (1989-1994), above, was faster than the Polo G40 (MkII), the second Gol GTI (1995-1998) had two versions one with 8 valves and another with 16 (that's the interesting one), the 16V just had 140 or 145hp, probably the 16V was faster than the Golf GTI of the time (MkIII), the third one (1999-2001) was pretty much the same, but only had the 16V version, still faster than the Polo GTI (MkII) Correct me if I'm wrong -- Last edit: 2011-11-23 03:25:43 |

2011-11-12 00:11 | It is very reliable and handle in the roughest dirt roads because it was developed in Brazil, in addition, this car replaced the Beetle here (It even had an Air-Cooled version of it), so it has to be cheap, reliable and ride in our roads... The GTi model was one of the best Gols of all time, with the 2.0 AP Engine...It is very reliable, it is very cheap to tune and can support a very strong modification... -- Last edit: 2011-11-12 00:12:07 |

2011-10-27 07:20 | This platform was sold as the Volkswagen Fox in the U.S. market from 1987 to 1993. My parents had a 1989 coupe when I was little. It was something of a crude, noisy car, and the interior was pretty cheap. On the plus side, it was mechanically and structurally durable, somewhat zippy for an economy car, and could handle even the roughest dirt roads like they were nothing. They owned it until December of '96, and in that time it proved itself to be a capable, practical little car. I wouldn't mind having one now... |

2011-10-15 05:17 | Or the new Fox, witch is a little Polo... We are knowed for the best replicas in the world, and we made some good sports cars, like the Lobini, the Puma GTB, the Opala SS, the Golf IV,5 GTi (with 193cv), the Marea Turbo, The Civic Si, The SP2...These cars look like the European versions, but they have a larger engine or a more powerfull one...We had some clever cars, such as the Dacon 828, the Gurgel BR-800, the Brasilia... And the Gol GTi, for instance, was exported to the U.S. in the sedan and wagon versions, with smaller engines...In Brazil this car is a sales phenomenum and has a legion of fans in 31 years of it's existence... -- Last edit: 2011-10-15 05:22:16 |
crown vic guy br photo_librarymode_comment 2011-10-15 01:33 | The quality of brzilian cars are good, the roads here are the wrost in the world, so the cars had to be tough. The Gol GTi was compared to the Kdett GSi and both cars was in the same quality level in 1991. When Lada came to Brazil they was considered wrost than the barzilian cars by the especializated press. A lot of world class cars have brazilian influence, like the new Fiat Panda that is derivated from the brazilian Uno.But we make some crappy too, like the Chevrolet Agile who use the Opel Corsa A platform and the Ford EcoSport (lifted Fiesta). Great part of the cars sold in Brazil have european and american badges and a lot of these cars was created here by brazilian engineers and they are good cars, like the new Gol who is basically a Polo with a cheap interior |
sajmon14 photo_librarymode_comment 2011-10-15 00:45 | I don't want be not ncie or something, this car looks good but as I hear from other the quality of brazillian VW's was like on Ladas or Polish cars(Crappy) |
