Calling Need for Speed a "childish arcade" because of a car brand having an exclusive contract with EA makes that attitude more childish than the game, being insulted about it is ridiculous.

I meant something different. Also my comment is from 2011 😅

Did someone rumored that EA's Exclusive rights for Porsches will expire in December?

I've heard it's supposed to end next month, and according to other people, since no one has said they've renewed it (because deals like this tend to be bragged about in advance), the deal is probably finished and Porsche can go elsewhere.

MY GOD. I hope this is true. Then what are EA going to brag about?

But man, why does Porsche itself agree to this cheapening of their image?

I can see just two options here:

1-They were so imppresed about Porsche Unleashed, that they signed the hell out of a contract, which gives EA total control over the use of their cars in games, and/or maybe in the contract says the deal cannot be broken, unless Porsche wants to pay a enormous amount of money or something like that.

2-They donīt care. At all. On any level.

I mean, 12 years have passed since Porsche Unleashed, and EA still have the damn license. Only one game (well, 3, actually) managed to get them too, and now, even Microsoft cannot do anything about it...maybe they are just waiting for the deal to expire (i hope Porsche didnīt sign a lifetime contract...they cannot be that stupid) because...well, itīs Microsoft. They have enough money to buy EA, but obviosly, theyīre not going to do so just for a license.

But still, they tried to get Porsche back all over 18 months. They even talked straight to Porsche, and nothing happened...

Thatīs what iīm waiting for. The deal have to end some day...

You are right J-2 but why Porsche signed deal with EA when they could get more money getting their car in Forza, GT, TDU...
And i think that best simulation are made by SimBin. I played Forza 4 & GT5 but GTR & RACE series are better. Only problem with SimBin is that they aren't owned by some big company and they don't have money.

And they blocked Forza from having Porsches, just for trying to get sales. Theyīre so desperate, they converted NFS into a mix of Heavy Rain and GTA, and they all know to do is trying to get attention, doing things like that.

To sum up how theyīre thinking right now:

"Hey look! We have Porsches! Weīre now the only game that have them! Also, weīre introducing the new 991 Carrera in here! And you can even win a real one!! And one of the main characters is played by Christina Hendricks!! That gorgeous redhair from Mad Men!! And one of the trailers was directed by Michael Bay!! Awesome, isnīt it??!! Go and buy our game!!"

Yes, itīs sad when you ran out of ideas, and you have to keep up with stupid things like this, in order to attract attention. They donīt care about quality anymore, they just think about money.

I can only hope, for the sake of games, and Porsches in them, that The Run is a fail in sales. They deserve it. (Iīm sorry for the developers, though)

When i remember the good old days, when EA wasnīt a corporate monster, and did good NFS games...ironically, one of the best was Porsche Unleashed/2000, when all this began, but hey! That was an actual homage to Porsche, not like modern day NFS.

Also, Forza 3 had 35 Porsches. This, just 4. But itīs not because they have a limited range of cars, they feature 7 Nissan, 7 Ford, or 5 Lamborghini...

Why do they want the damn license then? Showing off. Thatīs why.

GT never had any Porsche car, so obviously this was never going to be anyway.

Where it should have been, as i said before, was Forza 4. It was already made, but EA decided to play dirty, so, no any serious car game will have this...

And again, i hope they finally lose the license, and both games can use Porsche, i miss driving them a lot...(EA can go back to sleep if they think iīm buying this just for driving Porsches...i prefer to go back to FM3 and drive them again)

Exactly. EA must realize that people aren't happy with them hogging the Porsche license. I think EA just keep it to themselves so if you want to drive Porsche's (on PS3, like me) EA is your only choice. Which sucks. I guess the only people who don't have a problem with this are EA (duh :o ) and RUF.

How does Tanner have a 2010 Alfa Giuletta in San Francisco? How does Vito own the world's only Lincoln Futura before it even existed? I try not to let things like this bother me unless the game is trying to be "SUPER REALISTIC".

Still, maybe there's a mission where Jack steals it from a car show or something.

Yes, sorry, I just got a bit annoyed about this car NOT BEING ON GT5.

EA do annoy me, refusing PD ,and now T10 the right to use Porsches. They prefer to hog Porsche and use them in street racing games, or "Shift: The Real Lagggg Sim." EA EVERYONE HATES YOU FOR THIS! (Nice car)

This very car was going to be featured in FM4's autovista mode...

So, Porsche prefers to be in a unrealistic arcade saga running out of ideas, rather than a serious car simulator, where cars get a decent treatment. (Autovista cars even more)

If only Forza and GT could use them...
