From my point of view, it parodies both Bullitt and Starsky and Hutch. The car and the "bad cop" element are inspired by Steve McQueen's fabulous outing, San Fransisco and the black stripe and potlamp are from S&H.


Bullitt also takes place in San Francisco.

For some reason they changed what used to be the Shelby from Gone in 60 Seconds to presumably the Bullitt Mustang, although it is probably more suitable for the San Francisco setting.
