The headlights resemble those of the toyota corona, the grille resembles those of the old mercedes, but the whole is definitely reminiscent of a Volvo.

Despite the 244-ish body, its still much more likely that it was supposed to be a Mercedes Benz W116 upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a3/450SELI_0411.jpg the front end is a dead giveaway.
