mondeo with siera fromt
Sure, Ill post them in the main game rather than here tho.
Also I still belive we cant judge on name, I mean The counthash is a diablo :P So calling a Sierra a Mundano is just as valid as calling a thunderbird an Impaler heh

Mundano doesn't mean it's boring, it's just edited Mondeo word, like you would say Crapvrolet instead of Chevrolet anyway could you upload those original designs somewhere? They look interesting

I used top a Contour, And side refrences of a mondeo, The contour is only avalicble as a 4 door sedan but there are no refs I can find of a mondeo of that era, I do belive a modeo directly from the top would look more curved than a sierra.
From the side you can see the windows are more rounded towords the top, from above this may look as if the roof is less stright, However I cant find a direct, top down view, Only angular images, and the angle of a picture can be very deceptive.
even the picture you provided shows a slight curve compared to the sierra, the very top of the windows are fairly clsoe to the center of the roof.
I just did them as dark as the side pillars, It would look rather clutterd with those in too, Also I used a 5 door sierra refrence, Nobody said it wasent a 3 door?
There is nothing that says the Mundano is a 4 door, Infact most cars in the game (except vulture and repair van) that have 4 doors have an animation for it opening, All 3 copcars, portsmouth all 3 taxis, regal, all limos, all busses, the brigham
also if you look at the mundano the rear door area would be slightly longer than the front, Like a 3 door sierra, a mondeos rear door is slightly shorter than the front one.
But you, seem to ignore. Mondeo has a more curved top of the rear hatch window, the front end is more rounded where as the ingame Mundano is rather flat.
Not really, Infact the only reson it was called a Mondeo in the first place is because of its name Mundano, Wich is just a word play on the word Mundane, to mean a boring normal car, I know people would consider both the mondeo and sierra to be mundane, GTA Also named the Camaro a 'stallion' Wich would make it a mustang the thunderbird an 'Impaler' wich would make it an impala, The mercedes both an 'Itali', and 'Jugular' Making them an italian sports car, and a jaguar, the volvo a 'Regal' making it a regal (I doubt theyd use a cars real name) Corvette is a 'Thunderhead' making it a thunderbird? and the 'Challnger' wich is not actully a challnger... The reson im listing all these is to just point out, The name is meaningless A car could be called penis in the microwave for all I care, Im going to go on its physical aperance. or sometimes Filename wich on occasion gives clues. such as in GTA2 and ATS
GTA cars are a weird brand, I dare not even post my Bulldog theories.

Your top view drawing of the Mondeo has the side windows way too curved and slanted. What did you use as a reference?
The roof of the mk1 Mondeo is quite flat actually, and viewed from the top, looks just as flat as the Sierra's.
Also, you seem to ignore that the Sierra has additional rear quarter windows, which the Mondeo doesn't. Just like the Mundano.
All signs point towards Mondeo.
Its kinda close to call but I still belive its more sierra like. Theres the old concept, and then theres the shape.
I decided to get a bunch of refrence images from the sideera, and mondeo 5 door hatchbacks.
Ignoring the lights, Both cars have a large window on the tailgate, a very slightly raised area in the center of the hood, being a very bland car thats all I could pick out,
So heres a drawing I did based on the mondeo and sierra refrences, of the basic body shape.
I may have overdone it a little but the mondeo deiffinatly has more rounded side windows toworods the top, the rear of both cars is surprisngly flat if you look from the rear, only that the mondeo has a more rounded window, It seems rather close to call..
Heres each car drawing shrunk down to 35x62 pixels, The size of the car in the sprite for GTA.
So I think the reson some GTA cars look off, is due to the small sprite size, Cars are allways oddly proportioned being very short and wide, Its very close But I would still call this a sierra based on the flatter front, and flatter roof.

it is obvious that this is a Mondeo. I don't understand how can you not see it. If it isnt a Mondeo, Sierra, Scorpio then what is it?

Let's see... the whole car.
It's a Mondeo with the usual GTA1 altered proportions (shorter body, especially shorter bonnet). Looks absolutely nothing like a Sierra nor a Scorpio (except from the early DMA concept's front end... but that is not in the game)
Since you're "siding with Maxine", there's obviously no point in arguing with you.
The rear window, for example, is definitely Mondeo:

Ya the old DMA cars, they were avaliable years ago in some old GTA info pages, info is getting skechy as years go by, Theres also diffrent versions of the bulldog with diffrent front lights.
Anyway you are kidding right? The mondeo is much rounder, the Mundano in gta has too much of a flat roof, Theres also the chanels on the roof withere roofracks are attatched wich dont seem to be on all sierras,
Could ya explain the basis for saing its a modeo for me?
Where can I see those original concepts? I couldnt find that on the web. The original concept you posted looks a bit different, the front looks like taken from the Sierra but it's actually also a Mondeo front, just edited. So it's a Mondeo anyway I think

Greetings, Ya I been around, havent posted much, I get fustrated with the lots of randomly posted car names.. I enjoy doing research into such things. and dont like the fact people can look at two diffrent cars and think there the same :P
I just hope all my research, explinations, and such dont end up anoying people.
While digging around in the history of GTA, for a mod I was making (reverting it all back to early concepts) I got ahold of the early DMA car concepts again, The game apears like it was going to use a more GTA2 like system, with trucks and trailers, and a much more GTA2 like, car color palet system.
anyway sevral cars are very similar, a few cars caught my attention, One of them being the car that looks very much like the Mundano.
The orignal concept I at first thought was a Murker Scorpio, but the rear window dosent fit, And the other Murker is only a 3 door, So this has some euro influence, Personally I think its a cross of the Europian Ford Sierra, the Scorpio, making some kinda weird Murker 5 door hatch, wich would have been cool.
Anyway take a look.
So how would ya call that? Ford Sierra? Dosent fit the us but looks closer, Murker Scorpio? Front is the same but rear window is diffrent.
Apears to be another case of Car named due to its ingame name, Please do reserach.

Road Wars Fanatic
Yep, Based on 5 door model
so that's why people call it Mundano
"The Contour was slightly larger than the Tempo and was only available as a sedan. By contrast, the European Mondeo was also available as a hatchback and a wagon."
Proves my point. The rear glass of this car is from the Mondeo hatch, thus it appears to be a Mondeo.
Despite ostensibly being set in the U.S., keep in mind that these games are developed in the U.K., so certain British cars have a habit of finding their way in, such as the Ford Escort Cosworth ("Cossie") and Ford Transit vans ("Transit").
I say Mondeo, since the Countour was never a 5-door, which this appears to be.
Since this game is set in America, it may be better to call this a Ford Contour.
