Originally set to be called Gran Turismo 2000, GT3 marked the first outing onto the current generation for the Gran Turismo series, with stunning results. The game boasted vastly superior visuals to that of the previous installments, which truly harnessed the added power of the PS2 at the time, making it an instant showcase title and is often regarded the best of the series so far. Despite the visuals and trademark handling, the game had one glaring flaw - the car list. Due to the early release in the PS2's life, there were only a pitiful 150 or so cars on offer, which is nothing when you consider the majority are Japanese cars and Gran Turismo 2 had nearly 600 cars. Yes, a game having 150 cars would usually be perceived as substantial, but this is after all Gran Turismo. Still, despite its shortcomings in this department, GT3 will always be fondly remembered.

Weren't the F1 cars in the UK version, too?

Apparently, they're based on real-world F1 cars and the names they were given in the game indicate which car they represent.

Twister01

2009-04-21 21:20

there are way more than just this many cars. like a Mitsubishi FTO LM race car, a Mazda RX-7 LM race car, 2 other Skyline racecars, The TOM'S Chaser, and several others, Like a few more indy cars.

Sinval, you get the Lamborghini in the Mistral 78 Laps in Cote D´Azur. After win this car, see if this car is faster than the F1 cars.
How did you buy the GT3 Japonese Version?

Yes but you accepted the 2 Stratos, the Porsche and the Diablo, which also aren't regular cars. I thought this website was meant to include every car in a video game, including hidden ones. Hence the reason the SWAT Van in GTASA is here and the majority of GT2000 cars etc. etc. This McLaren can be put into an unmodified retail Japanese version via save game/Gameshark.

there's a whole platoon of mx-5s that are hidden and require a cheat to obtain. There are also 4 different versions of s2000. there is the type-v (obtainable) as well as three different base model s2000s, one for each region. there is a hidden lancer vi rally car and also don't forget the r34 m-spec.

^^^good point about the slk not being there.

Agreed, but your pics just show Midfield Raceway. And there are more tracks than Midfield Raceway. For instance, when Star Wars Fanatic did these pics, he used all different tracks, like Apricot Hill and Super Speedway. And on GT1 and GT2, you'll notice that when Rinspeed did the pics he used all different tracks as well. Plus, there's still at least one car missing, the Razo Silvia. And can we delete the pages with the Stratoses and the 911 GT3? They are not normal cars and they can be only obtained with cheat codes.

Good news! I've fished out my copy and new pics will come soon! :king:  Oh how I've missed you. I remember last time I played, sometime in late 2014, I wanted to do the Trial Mountain 2 Hour Endurance, but had two problems:

1. I used the Lancer Evolution IV as my car of choice, but it seemed very underpowered compared to the AI.
2. I'm not really that patient. :D

Then some things happened:

1. Got Forza Horizon 2.
2. Joined IGCD.

Boy, I can't WAIT to start playing you again...

Which BTW, that reminds me, February 3rd was the one year anniversary of my first comment. I'm one year old already... :D

In the description of RUF, the game refers to Porsche as a "famous German car maker". Porsche was like "No, only EA may put our cars in their games" back then.
