it looks like there is a slight improvement in vehicle models atleast. It always seemed like the vehicle models weren't that great almost like they had a 3d animated cartoon movie look to them. Definitely Rockstar was alot better in that aspect especially when GTA IV came out.

I cannot imagine a scenario where comparing your game to Hobbes and Shaw is somehow a good thing. That movie is so unbelievably awful and is easily the worst fast and furious movie.

To be fair, Hobbs & Shaw is technically a spin-off and not necessarily canon to the movies.

With this... Well, it's technically a reboot but I can't help but feel like this will end up being another Agents of Mayhem with the cartoonish graphics.

But, I'm trying not to be overly negative as we've only seen the reveal.

Well, there are a few good things about the potential of this game. It's not really intended to mimic Fortnite in any way.

The developers listed Baby Driver, Hobbs & Shaw, and John Wick as some of the movies that inspired the kind of action they want in this game.

It's also been stated that they see SR4 as equal to the 007 film Moonraker, as it was so outside the realm of reality, that they had to reel it back in.

The intention is that it goes back to a balance of humor and seriousness seen in SR3, which I think can be appreciated.

Also, the location, an American Southwest theme, feels like part Las Venturas (GTA SA) and part Blaine County (GTA V), with a Saints Row twist.

I'm certainly looking forward to it. Surely it won't be as much a disappointment as Watch Dogs Legion...

I'm a huge fan of the first Saints Row games, especially SR1 and SR2.

I can understand people complaining that the vibe is wrong, especially with the bright colours and the CGI teaser trailer.

However, SR1 and SR2 were very 2000s in tone. All the edgy humour is long out of fashion now and the gang wars stuff was dead even by SR2. It may have been better to set the game in the 2000s, maybe following a breakaway group of saints between SR1 and SR2? I do hope they keep the balance between light-hearted silliness with dark story moments. SR2 did this well and it worked and meant the story was impactful.

Let's hope they don't mess it up, but we are living in the worst timeline so it will probably be somehow worse than anyone could predict.
