There are plenty of karts to add, but for now I have only two.

You don't have to unlock them to see them so why not add them all?

I've already seen the taxi from roads turnpike previously from Mario kart 8.

Another terrible mobile game from Nintendo, why can’t they just make it like Mario Run? This game is piled with greedy micro transactions

Because Mario Run was abysmal fiscal failure that Nintendo higher ups didnt like. Mario Run barely did fraction of the revenue of Fire Emblem Heroes that followed freemium economy.

Ah yes, Gacha Kart Tour. "To get the most out of the game, pay us $5 a month!" Unless the profit is going towards a new F-ZERO game then piss off.

That profit will end up on taking classic names and making them full-blown gacha items.

I guess I need the way to do proper screenshots of both rear and front, because I struggle to do, cause I can't pause the race.

Just make a Mario kart 9 already! They reused elements from Mario kart 8.

And yet some fans defends this BS, I’m afraid that every major company will become the next EA, if this becomes a success (which sadly it will) Nintendo might attempt to put loot boxes in consoles in the future

The mechanics are there, Mario kart is still Mario kart, but this monetizing system. Makes this game too cynical to be fun, not to mention leveling up/coins are limited per day, if you lose top 3 you will lose exps as well, cups are locked behind timers (around 24-48 per day) and the list goes on, they could’ve easily spent effort into a Mario kart 9 for the switch which would be great to play while you are out, but instead we got this Game that most of its content are locked behind paywalls

I agree, but this will never end. If you remember why the freemium games are terrible, then that's because they are. Now I've feared the worst - some of the annoyances will end up in consoles and PCs. Lootboxes are sparse in consoles for now, but I don't think this will last. NFS: Heat promises no lootboxes - but EA will be EA and add them later. Forza Motorsport 8 at this rate will probably add freemium content in the from of racing playlists (God I hope they can't do that). Gran Turismo doesn't do that.

I wish there was so much effort into modern games - adding requested features, extensive variety on everything (and that includes cars, and yes, I seriously mean CARS), a beautiful open world with 1000+ sq. miles of land/terrain/city,etc. and the power of Unreal Engine 4 (and in the future, 5). But it seems to be update this, update that. Ever heard of "Get it right the first time?"

Here's my proposition for better game mechanics:
-Better fanbase and one that will sell well
-No DRM usage (meaning a game is unplayable when the internet is down or the servers are busted)
-No stupid microtransactions (and don't even think about shoving "macrotransactions" into our console games)
-Get rid of "loot-based games"
-Get rid of time gates. Obvious choice.
-Don't force people to pay to progress a story.

The Tokyo car pack incoming.

And @MBR that's not the worst part. Wait until there's ACTUAL GAMBLING into our games (oh wait - NBA 2K20 had them right at our faces) and this will show how awful the gaming industry is. Did you know greed is one of the deadly sins? That's because they are. And I have a theory publishers are corrupted. What a sad life this is - the future of gaming is very uncertain now.

Why is everyone making fun of games here?

Actually, the future of video games' playability and fun factor are grim. With things like microtransactions, pay-2-win features, lootboxes and timegates, this is very bleak for mobile gaming. And all of that is infecting into console gaming as well. So theoretically, it's not making fun.
