I think most people agree this game is terrible. It was such a failure that Embracer no doubt lost money on it but have also even re-evaluated the ways games get greenlit for development.

Well, I'm not most people. It's my opinion and I don't think it's as bad as everyone says it s.

Is it disappointing? Sure, but I feel like all the criticism is lauded by a bunch of elitist reactionaries that dismiss anything that isn't The Last of Us or Elden Ring.

But again, how can I express a different opinion without being hounded by the mob of people trying to either ignore me or shun me for wrongthink?

This is why I hate game critics.

Yeah, but the story and characters still suck and the game play is hit or miss.

But that's not what I kept hearing. Ever since the trailer, practically everyone slammed the game for being "woke" just because it doesn't have dildo bats or whatever.

And I get it, the new characters are far removed from what we know from Saints Row, though honestly I felt the exact same way when The Third brought in a wrestler, a geeky hacker girl, and large Russian man with genetic clones.

But I was willing to forgive that because the game was still fun.

And while it may have it's fans (and still might, after everyone unanimously hates the 2022 reboot), I can't stand Saints Row IV. After it introduced aliens,I clocked out faster than everyone cringed once the reboot mentioned "brunch" in a cutscene.

Though honestly, I'd still take the reboot over SR4 because at least the city felt like a city and a visual eyesore pretending to be a Matrix parody. It also makes better use of vehicles as IV made cars obsolete when you could super sprint and glide everywhere. I'd gladly take a wingsuit over actual flying powers anyday.

Also, monster trucks here actually have a purpose rather than feeling like an afterthought like they were in IV, which felt like pointless unlocks.

I feel like I'm the only one that doesn't hate this game...
Sure, it's not perfect, but it's not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
At least it's more fun than The Last of Us Part II.

Personally the front end looks more like a Montero Sport.

And the rear, Sure It can be slightly freelander like, it could also be like a Discovery, or a Montero, or a Land Cruiser.

I always thought it looked liked the V70 Montero. Which isn't too far-fetched, considering that model actually around the late 90's.

I'm getting sick and tired of hearing this shit.

Every time people discuss SUVs, they assume every truck with a roundish square body is a Jeep of some kind.

It pisses me off so much that I want to punch these people square in the face and slam their head against concrete just to jog their scatterbrained heads.

I know what a Jeep is, these people clearly don't.

I think it's based on speculation. I mean, some people debate on whether the Taxi/Police Car was based on either the Ford Crown Victoria or the Chevrolet Caprice. (I think they look like the former, given the front)

As for the Landstalker, I think it looks like an early 2000's Mitsubishi Montero. If anything, I think the VC/SA Landstalker has more in common with a Jeep model than III. Whereas LCS through V, look more like a Ford Expedition.

But I digress.

That wont be possible.HP2010 Remastered may be the last Classic style NFS since EA is still obsessed with 16 million sales success of MW2005 so next game will keep custom/ricer/chav feature with more pointless cheesey story nobody gives AF.HP5 will never happen since both Rivals(new HP2) and HP2010 are requested by Alex Ward of Real Criterion.Without them EA takes the full control,so NFS will keep the trend of UG/MW/NFS2015 rather than HP or TNFS1994 style.

I honestly don't see why people are so critical of the tuner aspect. I get the overuse of ricer nonsense, but at the same time recapturing the Hot Pursuit essence hasn't worked that well. Rivals was complete shit, imho.

Plus, if NFS ditched the story aspect, it'll probably be just as uninteresting and dull as The Crew 2 or Gran Turismo Sport. Not saying they are bad games per se, but honestly never appealed to me.

Fast & Furious: Crossroads (2020)
Quite frankly, I'm more disappointed in what could have been.

If the controls weren't so stiff and the multiplayer offered up some split-screen or bot matches, it probably might have been pretty fun to mess around with.

And the inclusion of a Supra and Eclipse by way of a Season Pass really rubs salt in the wound.

I honestly didn't want to hate this game. But I guess I'm a bit too naive to expect any better.

The Last of Us Part II (2020)
This is, in my opinion, the worst game I have ever played in my life.
Never in my life have I played a game more joyless, dreary, and miserable than this one.

Sure, there are games that are technically worse than this, and technically speaking, this isn't a bad game. It's definitely playable and the graphics look nice.

But I had no fun with this game at all.

It's one thing to be a bad game, I can make fun of a bad game.

But this game isn't even bad enough to get angry at.

Rather, this game makes me question why I play video games in the first place. Whether if life is actually worth living. That life is nothing but a constant stream of bad events hamstrung by fake happiness.

And this is why I hate this game.

It makes feel nihilistic and hate the world far more than I already do.

And before you get defensive, I am not saying that this is a bad game. If you like this game and consider it a masterpiece, then that's perfectly fine.

I'm just saying that I can't bring myself to return to this game ever again.

I never want to have these feelings of depression and nihilism in my life, and I especially never want to play a video game that makes me feel like this just for some emotional manipulation.

Is it any good?
NO. It sucks.
I would strongly recommend anyone who is slightly interested in this game to skip it. It is not fun in the slightest. In fact the whole game feels like a bunch of ideas thrown together and duct taped in a really shitty fashion.

The driving physics is horrendous. Every. Single. Car. behaves the same. Whether it be the red van, a bowler wildcat, a dodge dart or a NSX they all slide about like they're on ice. You tap the brake and the car launches into a perpendicular slide that takes you off course into a wall. The game plays almost exactly like the Pimp my Ride game on the PS2/Xbox from 15 years ago.

The settings are ridiculous and half the time I didn't realize where I was until the game screamed it into my face. Each level is presented almost like how every level was presented in Hot Wheels: Velocity X. Where you get one big map and every mission involves just going to specific locations on the map.

I have not paid attention to the story in the slightest. There's some fanservice in the first area to the fast and furious 1-4 but the story is straight up nonsensical. The only bit I followed was that at one point the characters V, Cam and Sebastian (who's dead at this point) were set up by Letty and when they confront her, the response is "shit happens....anyway here's Dom!". The rest of the story I've followed is like a shitty fanfiction where someone inserts their character directly into the plot but they have to have the same upbringing as Letty and Dom since big reveal she's their daughter/sister/long lost relative. I'm still working through the game since it took hours to download (I paused it at one point and downloaded a Resident Evil in less time than it took for the game to update). Also the cutscenes look like shit and I swear aspects of the story were lifted straight from NFS Payback, the character you play as "V" looks for real like Navarro from that game. At one point she says "progressive" and I cringed.

There's also some scum tactics with game. For example I got the physical version and it installed the game from disc in like 5 minutes which is really quick. Well turns out all it installed was the first mission and you had to download the rest of the game from an update....Just like Tony Hawk Proskater 5 if anyone remembers that fiasco. Also there's the fact it has a season pass for call of duty level of pricing (which for me is $44) and the Toyota Supra is EXCLUSIVE to the season pass even though you race it.

There are some cars in the game I suspect are also going to be dlc because despite you racing them in the first area they don't seem to be playable in the online mode. For example I think the R34 GTR, Silva and the Veilside RX7 (yep it's in the game) are gonna be dlc. Speaking of the multiplayer I haven't been able to try it yet because despite it being launch day I only found 2 people online and you need I suspect 9 to start a game....

Anyway, TL:DR, Play NFS Payback if you want pretty much the same story about revenge and shit but with better gameplay and if you really need that fast and furious hit try and get the 2006 game, infinitely better than this shit.

That's disappointing to hear. While I doubt it would've been good, I thought I would enjoy it as mindless shlock. But the cars felt way too stiff and the levels were too restrictive, even for a linear action game. The callbacks and references to the movies didn't really do much for me, even as someone that liked the movies as a guilty pleasure.

Speaking of, I liked NFS: Payback and the 2006 F&F game, flawed as they were.

Though tbh, the 2006 F&F game has some wonky driving physics as well, the drifting having the same stiffness as this game.

Personally, I have a more satisfying F&F vibe with the 2009 game Wheelman, which ironically looked way better than this.

Fast & Furious: Crossroads (2020)
I might be in the minority, but I'm one of the few that is actually looking forward to this game. Of course, I'm not counting on it being any good, but it might be fun for some mindless schlock, similar to Stuntman: Ignition or the Earth Defense Force titles.

Plus, I kinda want to see a more action-focused car game that isn't just about racing, similar to the Pursuit Force titles or NFS: The Run.

Frankly, I find that kind of thing a bit more refreshing than majority of racing titles than try to either be a racing sim or kart racer.

Because, if you're referring the 2005 one I highly disagree. That game is pretty addicting and still holds up in my opinion. If you're talking about the 2012 version, then yeah I'm with you on that one. While not a terrible game per se, it just wasn't as fun as I wanted it to be. Not to mention that it plays like a diet Burnout.

Wow, these comments are so hostile. I'm a total gearhead, both in games and IRL and I honestly really like the Fast and Furious movies.
Yeah, they're highly unrealistic and overexaggerated when it comes to cars, but sometimes I like to watch a movie for simple popcorn fun.

I mean, @Zordid, I personally hate Pokèmon with a burning passion but I'm not gonna go out of my way to constantly call it shit just because I don't like it or understand its appeal.
