Why not? It's can still be produced in 2010 while it's a 2011 model. Most cars that start production in July or so are of the next years model. Also I think Hedge is a reference to Dodge.

Definitely not called Beetle. The first civilian versions of these were known as KdF Innenlenker [Typ 60L], and were manufactured in large numbers from 1938 until the time war broke out. The military versions were known as Volkswagen Kommandeurwagen [Typ 82] or [Typ 87] depending on body clearance off the ground.
